Pure Badger Shaving Brush –Premium Handmade – Simply the Best Luxury Men’s Shave Brush (Pure Badger)

I have had many shaving brushes over the decades and this one is outstanding. I’ve had it several weeks and no hair has fallen out. That’s a first.The badger hair is first class and dense. It makes a fabulous lather and is just the right level of firmness, not wishy-washy like a synthetic bristle and not too stiff that it feels almost painful. I highly recommend this brush, certainly the equal of any I have had in my life, and far better than most.

Full disclosure. I was on Facebook and saw this brush on offer for buy it via amazon and we will refund your money via paypal upon receipt of amazon order number. Skeptical.. I tried it and actually received my money back within 1 hour. Now for my HONEST review...I ordered this brush on a Sunday and received it on the following Tuesday. I am a Prime member so that's why it came so fast.1st Shave: I first used this brush on the Saturday after receiving and used TOBS and a Porcelain scuttle via Phoenix Accoutrements. This combo made a good lather but not stellar. This brush has a tall knot which results in little backbone but a ton of splay. The handle was nicely made with no rough edges, a nice gold ring around the base of the knot with a hefty weight to knot ratio which in my taste was perfect. The last C in classic was not fully printed as evident by the photo but that's of no deterrence to the value of this brush. # of hairs lost on 1st shave....Zero2nd shave was the next Tuesday using a soap this time. I bloomed Fine Accoutrements American blend and lathered directly on my face this time. This is where the Lather and Wood brush is best suited. Face latherer's rejoice...The extra tall knot and oversized splay create easily a 3 pass amount with minimal load time and product. The Badger feel's soft but not too soft like silvertip often does. # of hairs lost....Zero3rd shave was today and NOT by myself. I wanted my wife to try this brush on her legs in lieu of my Simpsons for a women's perspective. Bad move on my part. My wife loves this brush. much more than the Simpson's she's previously commandeered. I fear this brush is no longer mine but "happy wife, happy life". She used it in the scuttle with La Toja and made a lather that did her legs and pits with a nickel size of the Spanish treasure. She insists this is HER brush now and I can accept that.With the good, comes the bad. When wet this brush smells terrible. I mean BAD. I knew what the smell was after the 1st use but wanted to enlist an experts opinion. I let my wife smell it and she immediately confirmed my suspicions. Perm solution... the very same that makes men sleep on the couch the night after your better half sports a new dew. During the 3rd use my wife and I agreed that the smell was fading away with use.In conclusion, aside from the horrendous smell when wet I would highly recommend this hidden jewel to ALL face latherer's and those scuttle/bowl users as an alternative to our beloved Simpson,Kent and other shave den gems of choice. I will try to update this when my wife lets me know when a hair has finally shed. Happy shaving gents!

Good quality shave brush. It works as expected and creates a good lather. Soft bristles mean it doesn’t feel scratchy against the skin. It had a nice weight to the brush and felt natural in the hand. Keep in mind this is a badger bristle brush (natural hairs) so for the first few uses it will have a slight wet dog smell. This is true of all badger bristle brushes and does in my experience go away after a few uses. The only problem is I feel the bristles are a little bit too long. That all comes down to personal taste and past brushes I’ve had though.

This brush is very soft and makes great lather for you wet shave.

I ordered this brush as the picture and description of it looked amazing. While waiting on the shipment I found my choice of shaving cream that came in a bundle with a handmade in England shave brush. I decided that I didn't need two brushes and returned this one. I wish I didn't have to but I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money getting into straight razor shaving and wanted to keep my initial investment limited. Let me say that this brush is beautiful and the bristles are a very nice and soft pure badger hair. Did I mention how beautiful this brush is? It is that good looking. However, the ultimate goal with a good shaving brush is the functionality. Alas, I cannot account for this part as I sent it back so it could be with some other lucky gent. But if it worked as well as it looked then it is a fantastic shave brush.Why did I give this brush 5 stars without actually using it? Because their other products are amazing and of high quality.(I am currently using their pre shave oil and aftershave balm) But mostly I have been blown away with the customer service and follow up from Lather & Wood. They want to ensure that their products live up to their standards and they reach out to make sure their customers are satisfied. They deserve another 5 star review on their books and I am happy to give it to them!Thank you Lather & Wood!

This shaving brush is of great quality. Now I have already used it over 10 times and the hair do not fall out. Initially it was a bit hard to shave with but now it has become softer. I think it is a good buy.
