The finest tarp at the best price
One of these Chicago tarps, in this size, is on its way to my house even now, to join the three others I've purchased from Amazon. I have to say, it was a HUGE RELIEF to find this much quality in materials and workmanship, available to the average Joe and Jane at such an affordable price. Just as every human being I know is advised to carry a flashlight of some kind at all times, I make an issue over their plastic garbage-tarps and box-store dropcloths for painting. Wasted money. But a good tarp WORKS PERFECTLY, and is WELL-MADE by expert tailors. THANK YOU, CHICAGO! This amateur Taylor tried, and failed, before he went to Amazon and typed in "canvas tarps." Presto.THIS TARP IS AN INVESTMENT, but at a bargain price. It looks like it will outlast my grandfather's, which he made in 1929. I snatched the last gold Chicago tarp I could find, and they're not available now. So that's why I'm shouting. It's a way good deal, and my first one confirmed it for me. And free shipping, too?! These Rambo-comforters are what I'm giving a few good friends for the holidays, in this fearful year of 2013. Stay dry, everyone.

Color and oily
So canvas was wonderful and served it purpose. BUT it is oily to the touch and the color came off on our camping items. We used it from the package.

Perfect cover for large heavy outdoor table!
Wanted a strong tarp for our outdoor dining table and this was the perfect solution. This isn't cheap but it is well worth the investment in my opinion. Well made out of cotton canvas duck which is treated with some kind of water repellent. Sturdy, grommets are strong and it looks great!Didn't want an ugly plastic tarp for several reasons.1) They always deteriorate which causes them to be thrown away. Not good for the environment.2) Our table is very heavy metal with ceramic tile top. Impossible to bring indoors. We didn't want to look at an ugly cover all winter long. The olive (Army green) is much nicer on the eyes than an ordinary plastic tarp. This tarp is the perfect solution for our needs! I'm optimistic it will last a reasonable number of years to come.

It is as advertised. I down graded due to smell.
I got this for a covering for plants from frost. It rather smells nasty when we first opened it up. Frost season is past for this year, so we will be using it next spring.

Nice
Seems heavy and well made, especially for the price.

GREAT QUALITY
This tarp is such a great quality and will last us years and years. I bought it to place my pruned fruit tree branches in as I cut them so hauling them to the brush pile would be easier. It is very heavy duty and will not allow sharp ends to poke through. Works beautifully and makes the job so much less tiring. We'll use it to cover the wood pile in the winter or our various tillers and mowers so it will be in constant use. And I plan to purchase at least two more. So much quality for a reasonable price. Not like the flimsy plastic ones that only last one or two seasons. Yes, it does have a strong oder but since it will be outdoors or in a shed, this is certainly no problem.

Smallest 8'x10' Tarp out there, order 10'x12' and you will get one that will be 9'x11' closest to get coverage of true 8'x10'
Tarp is much smaller, so much that the finished size needs to be added to the description of product. The cut size is much smaller than 8' x 10'. This tarp is constructed like most poly tarps in that it is folded once and finished out. One finds that the finished tarp is no more than 4" of 5" smaller than the cut size. This tarp is a full foot short in both length and witdh. On the pluss side this does appear to be a good quality tarp, for the money. But then again, one would have to buy one size larger in order to get the coverage needed, so there goes some of the cost savings, 10'x12' from Chicago is right in line with others 8'x10'. In short if you need to come with in a few inches of 8'x10' order up one size to 10'x12'. If it does not matter if it is 7'x9' then stick with the 8'x10'.
