Need for Speed [DVD] [2014]

a good car film that shines in 3d. I recommend seeing all 3d movies at the theater. After all the screen is forty feet tall! And this one had lots of cars flying at you. 3d is great for just providing depth and realism to Any movie. but this one had many scenes where things were flying at you. The acting was good too. the story is silly though like all race car movie stories where they race across America and no one dies. And they don't get stopped. This has never happened in reality for good reason. But many races do take place on secluded back streets. At least until they are all caught. Still , these type of race movies go back to the seventies. With films like the great 'vanishing point' or 'gone in sixty seconds' (original film). Many others followed. They all feature muscle cars and that's really cool too. This one should be seen in 3d and the picture on this blu ray is very good. You do get a 2d version as well. I had to get the uk version because the stupid studio didn't put this 3d blu ray out in the U.S. . Even though the movie was in 3d at the theaters. IT's a converted film but it looks great as it was done expensively. This is a must for 3d movie collectors and fans of muscle car race stories.

Here we have some great acting, some fun races and some gorgeous cars. I am a huge car fan, yet really do not like the F&F films at all, as they seem like an action movie, and they find places to shove cars into the plot. This is truly a proper car film. Admittedly I was nervous when I first saw the title and knowing EA had some hand in this, but was honestly surprised. 5 stars I think because there really is no decent car films out there, and this one ticks the box.Oh and yeah there is no CGI. All the flipping cars and explosions you see in the trailer, and the Mustang driving off the grand canyon, all live stunts. Can't fault that.

This film is outstanding!! I was so fed up of the unrealistic crap being dished out by the Fast and the Furious franchise so it's truly wonderful to see a film like this work so well without the fake!! The director is a former stunt driver and he made sure all the things in the film could actually be done, which really makes you feel like you are watching something unique and personal. The story works really well without being contrived, the acting is brilliant - it's extremely well cast! You get involved with the characters and you feel like you are in the cars with them sometimes!! The races are brilliantly shot and nerve-racking!! Ditch F&F and watch this on repeat!!!

To be brutally honest I bought this film because I had read that there was some hot male nudity. Well there was. And it was hot. And male. And nudity. That aside this is actually a genuinely entertaining film. It helps a lot that there's some hot guy candy, here it's Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Ramon Rodriguez (who I'm particularly fond of), there are two other guys whose names I forget but they're both hot. What makes this film a four starrer is that it has some thrilling action sequences. The film runs for over two hours (130 minutes) but the time does fly by. Okay so the film is highly unoriginal and decadently derivative but it is fun to watch and the stunts are groovy. As far as films based on video games go this is one of the better ones. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good actioner. And the male nudity scene? It's hot. And totally gratuitous which is a long time coming as far as I'm concerned.

Love this film - action packed from the beginning to the end of the film. Suitable for all the family to watch but my teenager boy loved it so much that every time a friend comes over to stay he puts this film on. If you a Top Gear fanatic you love this film - even my wife loved it. Good acting as well.Brilliant buy and most enjoyable film to watch - it is in my top 5 films of 2014.

It's fine, tho don't expect anything groundbreaking or as good as the Fast series. Also the empty lifeless female character leaves little to be desired, he has to teach her how to drive in a 'romantic' scene like she is a learner driver even tho she drove the hyper car to his house like a boss, before he's even drove it himself.

Amazing has it seems I really love this movie. It is all about speed on the road and cops chasing you. Has for the plot, well, it is simple yet it is enough for this kind of movie. Watching this movie in 3D also makes a difference. Listening to this movie loud (7.1 surround sound) is like you where in the car then and all your senses awaken. Also having this movie on a 64 inches Samsung TV makes another difference. Well, all in all it was worth watching.
