Looks good, and easy to install
I purchased the oak-veneer version. There are some tools needed -1. Hack-saw - to cut the bar to the correct length.2. Drill with the correct drill bit - to drill the holes needed for the plastic one-way holding posts. (posts have barbs which hold the posts in place once you press them into the holes)3. Obviously, a tape measure to measure the length to cut!Just watch out if you have underfloor radiant heating pipes or wire!Once the holes are drilled, it's a matter of sliding the plastic one-way posts into the groove at the bottom of the bar, and then positioning the posts to where the holes are. then push the bar in - and it will stay in place. The finish is just a glued-on plastic veneer, so if the threshold is over a high-traffic area, I would go with some other solution. The veneer finish will wear through quite quickly, but it's fine for most residential spaces, excepting perhaps the front or kitchen door.

The thresholds are good, but the plastic raw plugs will easily snap off if you have trouble getting them in. I had a problem drilling one of the holes deep enough and had to pull the threshold back out. All the raw plugs broke. Luckily I found some screws that slid into the same space and managed with great difficulty to secure the threshold in the ground. Basically if you buy this, make well sure everything is correct before you push the raw plugs into the holes.

Rubbish
I wanted a tight fit my carpet from one room to parque floor in other, but the plugs/dowels do not have ridges the full length of plug so will not grip into the floor, the door bar has movement, looks like i might have to glue the bar or wedge something underneath to get tight fit, you have to drill 6mm holes into the floor to accommodate this bar which is rubbish just like the product. I will just add that you will more than likely bend this bar if you want to replace the dowels.

Only lasted a few weeks.
I've had this Oak effect door bar for a few weeks, it looked great but unfortunately the plastic plugs that hold it down snapped off at the top rendering this unusable unless I glue it down which I'm not prepared to do as it's not flat underneath.I've decided to throw this away & buy a proper oak door bar, I wouldn't buy this item again.Would not recommend.

Rubbish.
Not worth it. Just a normal strip of aluminium with wood colour Fablon stuck over it.The 'screws' are just plastic and no way could I get them to fit into the floor and hook onto the bar.Could have had a really nice look. Just not worth the price.

Waste of money
This was fitted as directed but kept lifting so I had to buy another one from elsewhere.

avoid
the fixings for the bars, are terrible, plugs bend when tapping bar on. and are far too big, better bars out there which have a much easier way of fixing,, all n all a really bad product
