This unit only gives a reading sometimes when you press the button. When you do get a reading it is not accurate. There is no cosine correction on the sensor which gives highly unstable readings. When using for reptile UVB lights the meter will give you false readings from UVC light which is undesirable. This is from what I would assume is the lack of any filters to block the UV light below the acceptable range for reptiles. As you can see in the picture the sensor is open to the environment without any filters or cosine correction.

How easy it is to use...

I used it to check uvb and it gives you 19 all the time. Not a great option

It does not work. I tried batteries. Tried more new batteries. Put it in all directions all over and under the light. It read 19 directly on/under the light. It just dont work. I have a brand new T5 strip light and a uva/uvb mercury bulb... it just dont work...

I use this to test the UVB lights for my reptiles.

Took 10 minutes to get batteries stuffed into it. Had to hold button down with all my strength. Now looking for a better device to replace it.

Product doesn’t detect UVB. The reading shows 0 or 7 while the vet’s shows the proper range.
