Review of the Master Lock
This is a great product that delivers exactly as expected. The lock is of good quality and easy to open. It seems resistant to rust thanks to its durable plastic coating. Additionally, it features a waterproof lock cover that helps minimize the risk of rust.It comes with two keys, which function perfectly. The packaging is also easy to open; despite being a plastic blister pack, I was able to open it without scissors. As someone with only one fully functioning hand, I found it simple to open the packaging and use the padlock without any trouble.

Excellent lock
Looks like a really solid lock, with strong keys too. Very waterproof, with it's plastic covering. Excellent price too! Highly recommend.

Good value for a basic low-security lock
This is rated 5/10 on the ERA scale, meaning a mid-range level of security equivalent to 3/6 on the BS EN 12320 Security Grade. It feels well made and is heavy in the hand. The weatherproofing is thick, although has a slight flaw in its design - the rubber around the shackle is flanged (good) in that it meets the body, however the top of the body itself is covered in a very flexible rubber without a hard surface underneath it (see second photo), meaning that it simply pushes away from the shackle rather than forming a tight seal. Its an odd oversight. The clip-in plug for the keyhole is really well designed in contrast, and clips firmly and securely into place. However unless the lock is being used inverted, this merely means that the lock is better waterproofed at the bottom than the top, which will simply trap any water in the lock and prevent it from draining. The lock mechanism is OK, probably acceptable for this price point. The lock is reasonable protection against casual theft/breaking attempts but is not with its 5/10 ERA security rating means that it has no rating or guarantee against either drilling or sawing, so could likely be cut through in seconds with a portable handheld angle grinder.I'd say for the price this is great value for use in low-risk areas such as indoor lockers or cabinets in rooms secured against external entry. I would not rely on it in any more critical environments.

Good quality solid lock at a great price
This feels like a good quality padlock, especially for the price. The steel components are covered in a black rubber to protect against the elements which is good; the only bit which is a bit annoying is that the rubber on the end of the clasp that slots into the body of the lock (that I presume is there to help prevent water getting into the lock body is separate from the rest of the cover and comes off fairly easily - I have had to put it back on each time I have removed the lock.

Not sure how long these will last
Look sturdy enough. Have had one on each shed for the last few months. Key hole is covered by a flap which is kinda tough to unclipped once it's sealed. Despite this, within 4 months the locking mechanism is already gumming up due to rainwater getting in and has needed a few goes with wd40

Master Lock 7804EURD: Decent Basic Security
Pros:* Weatherproof: Thermoplastic cover offers good protection against rain, dirt, and grime, making it suitable for outdoor use.* Solid Build: Laminated steel body feels reasonably sturdy for its price point.* Decent Security: Features a 4-pin cylinder which offers some resistance to picking.* Good Value: Generally considered an affordable option for basic security needs.* Two Keys Included: Provides a spare, which is always useful.Cons:* Not High Security: More determined thieves with specialized tools could likely bypass it.* Potential for Rust (Long Term): While the cover helps, some users have reported rust issues over extended periods, particularly if the cover is damaged.* Keyway Cover Can Be Fiddly: The snap-on keyway cover, while protective, can sometimes be difficult to remove, especially with gloves or limited dexterity.* May Stiffen Over Time: Some users have experienced the locking mechanism becoming stiff with prolonged use, especially outdoors.Overall:The Master Lock 7804EURD is a decent, budget-friendly padlock suitable for general, low-to-medium security applications like securing sheds, gates, or storage boxes. The weatherproof cover is a definite plus. However, it's not designed for high-value items and may have some longevity issues in harsh outdoor conditions. Consider your security needs carefully before purchasing.
