Small- but that's all you need
I bought this item to help learn anatomy for my neuroscience course. It is a simple, small model, but it is great for visualising regions of the brain and how they relate to one another. Good fun to assemble too and very cheap compared to other models. It may not be hugely detailed, but for the price, it is an excellent revision aid and a nice addition to a student desk!

Not that bad as everyone says
It isn't that hard to put together as some say in the other reviews. I'm not that handy and it was completed within 15 minutes. And maybe it is small (but the package didn't say it was real size) but it is a great tool for having while you are studying about neuroanatomics. It shows perfectly the relationship between the structures and the parts fit together perfectly. I would recommend.

Nice, but tricky
It's fiendish to put together... The instructions don't help a lot, but really looks good when it's assembled

but some mods are possible with a kitchen knife where necessary - I only had to cut a little edge away from one piece to make it
For its size, this is a neat little model that has a helpful level of detail and comes partly constructed. It doesn't fit together perfectly, but some mods are possible with a kitchen knife where necessary - I only had to cut a little edge away from one piece to make it fit better. I was a bit worried about ordering it, having read some of the reviews on here, but quite honestly for the price I wasn't disappointed at all.

Poor quality
This item was smaller than I expected. It does not fit together as the pegs do not line up with the hole to attatch the parts together. I wanted it to show the inner parts of the brain, it is not suitable for this as it has never fitted together. In my opinion of little academic, ornamental or decorative use.

Its a Brain Jim - Useful pretty accurate little model
Astoundingly good for the price and scale. When you dissemble / Assemble it gives you a detailed look at the brain, its internal shapes and major structures. For me I wanted a look at the inner core and the ventricles and connective structures, and as far as I can tell seems pretty good. Very nicely you can assemble the ventricles separately to get a good idea of their overall and very complex shape. There are plenty of neurological books with structures sectional maps and so on but for the brain they are no substitute for solid physical 3D models. My only real complaint is that they should do a bigger and even better one for say £100. The tiny size does make some details difficult to see or show - like the cerebellum, or the optic nerves through to the visual cortex, that would be asking an awful lot of such a small model.Recommended.

The designer of this had a brain about this size!!
WARNING: IT IS TINY! Calling this "Learning Resources Anatomy" led me to believe I could use it for teaching. Do not expect to stand in front of a class and hold this up for students to see - they will not. The picture gives a grossly unrealistic view of how big it is. Just about OK for someone to have on their desk and work with on their own. Definitely not recommended.
