Having cooked forever with just the experience of touch and timing, I decided to plunge for a digital instant read thermometer thinking it would do a better job than my usual guesstimate. Having looked through a lot of these type of gadget this one seemed to me in the middle of the pack pricing wise. The only difference I could really see from the specs is that the more expensive ones report the temperature back quicker, and unless your flipping out 793 steaks a minute I really didn’t see an advantage to the normal home cook to shell out the cost difference. I chose ThermoPro as they seem to be one of the more popular manufactures of temp probes and had a nice range to chose from. Plumping for this one I was pleasant surprised. Straight out of the box the unit felt of good quality , looked like it was sealed so easy to clean under the tap , and had a nice big read out for the temp. The thermoPro is a German company and although the unit itself is manufactured in China. it doesn’t have that cheap Chinese feel. The quality of plastic itself is really good and so are the rubber seal and fixings that hold the two sides together. It has a magnet on the rear and moulded hole in the handle so you can attach it to your oven or hook tool rack and the magnet is of a good strength and it doesn’t slide down the oven door and remains solidly fixed. It’s slightly larger than I had anticipated, but although not required it is molded/shaped to fit in your hand. The display is large and crisp and easy to view, also the display rotates so you can easily see the display from which ever way up you are using it . It takes a couple of seconds to stabilise the temp when reading , but as I said before this is fine for most home cooks , and I checked it against an internal temp thermometer I have and the accuracy is almost identical making me think the accuracy is good as well. There is a calibration facility on the unit which I have not needed to use, so if the accuracy does wander a bit you can recallibrate which is a nice touch . The probe itself swivels from the main unit and is easy to open and close , and when you do this the probe switches itself on or off which is a nice battery saving idea and removes the participation of trying to use any fiddly on/off switches. Having used it now several times , it is easy to use and easy to clean and now has become one of my top useful kitchen gadgets. I took a look in my local hardware stores at similar probes and although most were slightly cheaper they didn’t have the quality of this item.. I honestly believe this probe will last you years and years and is a solid investment. Would I recommend ? Yes indeed I would so far there is nothing not to like here..

Very accurate used for loads of things but mainly barbecue Takes the guess work away from the perfect steak. Quality item. Turns on automatically when you open it which is a nice touch to speed thing up. Nice and easy to use

Very impressed with this, especially for the price. The build quality is excellent, even better than I expected, and the display is beautifully clear. Readings are accurate =/- 0.5 degree and very quick, just the 2-3 seconds as claimed in the description. The magnet will hold it in place on an oven or fridge but mine will be living in a a drawer. For this style of thermometer, I would say this is a perfect buy at a perfect price point.

Its a good thermometer but its not as instant as advertised, pretty good though.

Works very well. No issues. Easy to use. Seems accurate. Magnetic which is handy for storing on your oven/fridge.

Excellent fast readings good quality

Bought this as an alternative to my wired thermometer which I still use for long cooks. For a quick check, this is perfect... No wires, accurate, long, easy to use and it's quick. I've used it on a handful of cooks, mainly for the BBQ. I also use it to prove for tenderness as shown in the video. Used it on pork ribs, chicken and lamb shoulder. Definitely worth buying.

It is not easy to understand the temperature instructions

Özellikle sıcaklığı hızlı bir şekilde göstermesini çok beğendim. Magnetli rahatlıkla buzdolabına vs yapıştırabiliyorsunuz. Bekleme moduna alıyor kendini hareket ettirildiğinde ekran açılıyor çok beğendim. Bu markanın başka modelini kullanıyordum bu çok daha iyi ve su geçirmez görünüyor ama zorlamadım çok test etmedim batarya kısmı vs lastikle sızdırmazlık yapılmak istenmiş.

Parfait , pourquoi dépenser plus , mieux que le modèle au-dessus plus cher , livré avec une pile AAA , gros chiffres de lecture , s'allume en ouvrant la sonde , s'éteint en la refermant , sonde au milieu de la charnière contrairement au modèle au-dessus , changement C°/F° au dos par appuis long , attendre 3s pour une prise de T° correct c'est rien et moins fluctuant , étanche pour le passer sous l'eau , pas de risque de se piquer une fois fermé , magnétique pour le laisser à porté de main ou accroché . Bref que du bon pour surveiller la cuisson à cœur , sobre en noir , manuel en français , je recommande fortement .
