Royal & Langnickel RAA-5120 Essentials 500ml Acrylic Paint - Mars Black

I seem to get through quite a lot of acrylic paint on various arts projects. I've tried several brands now, but this one is my favourite. They are excellent. The thick plastic jars with a flip top with a small-ish hole (a bit like a chunky ketchup bottle!). The lid can also be completely unscrewed so you can get a big brush in there or pallet knife, if needed. I've tried about a dozen different colours from this range so far (see photos). All are beautifully thick, richly coloured, smooth and a pleasure to use. The photos don't really do them justice. They work very well on canvas, various resins, plasters, paper and even concrete. They also mix well together, no problems. Being nice and thick you can also get nice and thick brush strokes when needed, along with finer detail, so they work to provide a number of textures. Recommended.

I bought this paint to cover the back of my fish tank (outside glass). I’d already tried a different type of paint but it was a disaster and came off no matter how long I left it to dry. This paint worked beautifully. It’s fantastically thick and went on very easily and smoothly with a mini roller. I did leave 24 hours between coats to ensure it was properly dried and the second coat went on easily too. It gives a good Matt finish and covers well. Bonus points are given for the user friendly top too - much easier than a tin! It’s a good size pot too. Very happy!

Bought for my daughter who had a set with multiple colours in it, but very quickly ran out of the black. So a quick search brought this up and it looked great value. The paint itself is slightly better quality than what had come with the set my daughter had been using so she is really pleased. It’s also a very large tub so should last a very long time. She paints all sorts with it from paper to plastic masks and it all looks great.

Paint is as you would expect from a quality brand and excellent value, however, the bottle is so big that I can’t actually squeeze it. Could just be that my hands are too small (they are very small), but the plastic also feels quite hard. Luckily the lid unscrews very easily so I can decant some that way.

I used this to decorate under My stairs when turning it into my dogs bedroom, very effective and has been on a while and hasn't chipped, few little cracks when dry if you use too much.

Will last me a year where I was buying small bottles once a month. Well worth the money.

I fancied using some stencils with this black paint on my new walls. I have never done it before so I watched a video on the best way to do it and was very pleased with the results. The paint is lovely and thick, its dries quickly which is good for building up a few light layers to get an overall dark black coverage (which is what i wanted) goes on great with a tiny sponge in dabbing motions. The paint is washable in water which is an added bonus. Thankyou
