Best purchase for summer! I've worn these everyday since the day I bought them. As they are made of Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) (it's an extremely elastic material that can be sintered to form a porous material similar to rubber) they are really light, soft, yet hard wearing footwear. Just like all Birkenstock sandals they are long lasting and super comfortable with their support and quality manufacturing. They are perfect for day-to-day to wear in the garden, the city, the beach and in fact I'd wear them ANY where, and i have! They look fab with jeans, skirts, shorts, holiday sarongs, etc. Even though there is no felt where the toes are, it only took a solid day of wearing them that my feet became adjusted to these sandals, just like any pair of shoes and then my feet were fine. I cant recommend these enough!

I bought these to wear on my African trip last summer. They are extremely light weight, plastic, but so comfortable and fit my foot like a glove. I ended up wearing them all the time, even on long treks and they held up so well. Also, because they are plastic you just need to rinse them if they get dirty and they look like new. I must admit at first I was not sure, as I like leather sandals, but I really was pleasantly surprised. I only took hand luggage with me for my long trip as I didn't want to have any hold luggage, and because these are so light it really helped with my packing.

As someone who lives in flip flops in the summer but has been told not to wear them because they aggravate my lower back pain, I have been delighted to discover Birkenstocks. They took a few days to wear in but are now so comfortable that I can't see me wearing anything else all summer! They feel very supportive and the high strap means that they stay on well - I have walked miles in them. The most important thing for me was realising that they aren't a flip flop and should be securely fitted to your foot - once I tightened the strap so they weren't flopping up and down it made an immediate difference to the comfort of the shoe. I am usually a 6.5 and the 39 is a good fit. Don't be tempted to go too small as you need room for your feet away from the edges. I'm a Birks convert!

These are so comfortable. I suffer from flat feet and get pain from most types of shoes, especially those that are completely flat. I find it hard to find a pair of shoes that look okay while giving my the right support. I have always wanted a pair of birkenstocks, but I am not fond of the cork colour which most tend to have. I was glad to find this pair which was 100% black, ideal! The first time I wore them I actually suffered a bit of pain in my arch, as if the arch support was too high. But I persevered and they have felt unbelievably comfortable since then. I think it just takes a little while for your foot to get used to this level of support. These shoes allow me to walk hours without suffering from any pain, which I never thought was possible. I would say that the material of these are not as high quality as normal birkenstock shoes. They are made of plastic, and are super light. Good if you're travelling or in situations where your feet may get wet. The only downside I have is that because of the material it means the sole isn't very breathable. If you're wearing these in warm weather and your feet get sweaty, you may find the sole gets a bit uncomfortable after a while as there is no where for it to go. But otherwise a wonderful pair of cheap, conformable shoes.

I am thrilled with this version of my beloved Birkenstocks - I have had the original Gizeh (with cork soles) in a variety of colours over the years but these lighter, softer, 'rubbery' ones are my favourites. Great price, very light and comfortable, full arch and toe support as always but smarter and less likely to get 'tatty' looking as there is no cork. Highly recommended!

Historically I found the regular Birkenstock shoe rather heavy on the toes. Plus the fact you should not get them wet. Having recently broken a couple of toes and not being able to wear shoes Birkenstock were recommended by the hospital until I could get shoes on again. I bought this variety, a regular Birkenstock and a Birkenstock clog from a shoe store. So impressed with these plastic ones I bought a pair for 'he who is not often listened to'. They are incredibly light to wear, you can get them wet and are far more comfortable to wear than the regular ones. A great deal better looking than Crocs as well. The downside - they are often out of stock.

Love the fit and feel, and the colour. Really good arch support and don't feel the need to do that clawing with your toes thing you need to do when you're walking around in normal rubber thongs. Look a bit more upmarket than just your average thong. Spent all day yesterday on my feet, walking around the city shopping and these were perfect. These will be my go to shoes for travel in hot climates. Going to Bali in a few weeks and these will be the only shoes I take with me.

the product was sent out from Italy ??? , and took forever to arrive, In fact we went on holiday without it , and the whole purpose of buying it was to wear it at the beach . GO figure . got back found the product , though ok i guess i can wear it next year but guess what it was 3 sizes smaller . i am trying to return the product ? have not heard from the seller yet ? the shoe itself its amazing , genius idea as all cork Birkenstock go funny after water getting into them . but it's a completely different look . it's on the not so chic side plastic y . but for the comfort of the mould it's worth it . As this would have been the 10 pair of Gizeh i have owned . no back pain foot is hugged and sit well . One can live in them .
