Chess Set - Tournament Staunton Complete No. 6 Board Game - Hand Made European 21x 21 Set by Wegiel

I was very pleased with this chess set which incorporated both tournament size board and chess pieces. The quality of the set and met my expectations and is good value for money. The tournament standard for board square sizes is fully met at 2 1/4 inch which is not the case for many good sized boards. Also the woods chosen provide the required contrast and are pleasing to the eye.

I don't write too many reviews but in this case I had to write one. This set is well worth every penny. It has few imperfections but they actually make this set even more exceptional and hand, old style looking. There are metal hinges, it is weighted and board is straight. It is real professional set of chess and you can really enjoy your game. Well done Wegiel!!!

Bought this as a birthday present for my girlfriend, but we got nothing but disappointment instead. Several problems: 1) Poor packaging: it was shipped in the original cardboard box, without any extra protection, so the box already looks old and damaged; 2) The locking mechanism is flimsy and doesn't stay in place (ie in a locked position); 3) The inner lining was broken in several places. The workmanship of the pieces themselves is fine, but everything else is very sub-standard and overall not good value for money.

Arrived before expected, good quality

Is it possible to return the chess set I received any other way than by post. It is going to cost €32 Which is just too expensive. Would u have a picture up point where I could leave it to be collected ? Thanking you Josephine Fleming

Acheté après avoir joué sur un petit échiquier de voyage avec mes enfants pendant plusieurs mois. Il est très beau, du coup il reste quasiment toujours prêt sur la table basse, les pièces sont bien travaillées, l'échiquier est doux au toucher, c'est un plaisir de passer du temps autour.

The chess set is of good quality. My son was very excited, but this is short-lived cos the set is missing a pawn!! Disappointing that the seller did not do a thorough check prior to shipping.

Got the chessboard in time. It’s a great chessboard, well made with wood. The markings are all accurate and clean. Packaging is good as well. Bit pricey but for me it’s worth it. Nice to play on this board after playing on many smaller boards.

De excelente tamaño y con buen peso. El ajedrez se ve de buena calidad y con buenas proporciones las piezas. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. También se pueden guardar las piezas adentro del tablero en unos espacios que tiene para las piezas y así se evita que se estén moviendo. El ajedrez luce muy bien mientras lo usas para jugar e incluso como decoración.

Lo he recibido y me ha encantado su tamaño , es para disfrutarlo. No me ha gustado el color de las fichas , las oscuras como desgastadas , la blancas un blanco triste y todo mate pero están barnizadas pero creo que desmerece el conjunto . Me he puesto a darles otro color, más potente . las blancas más amarillas y las oscuras realzando . Y ha quedado increíble . Si alguien quiere saber cómo lo.he hecho que me pregunte . Tenía un poco desnivelado el tablero , solo hay que forzarlo un poco porque las bisagras no van con tornillos hastacwue quede nivelado y sin escalón .AHORA ES UN AJEDREZ DE PRIMER NIVEL .
