A Major upgrade at a very low cost. How can one go wrong at this price point.
After a lot of research and procrastination I decided to buy this refurbished HP 800 G1.I paid $302 after tax and it is at even a lower cost now. How could one go wrong at the price of RAM and 1TB SSD alone. I read negative reviews but I must say this HP arrived well packaged and as anyone should, I opened the PC to make sure nothing came loose in shipping. I added a much better wireless adapter than was supplied , but I have all my machines ( many dedicated for specific diagnostic instrumentation applications ) all of which are CAT5 hardwired to the LAN almost 100% of the time. I am in the process of building a NAS based on a HP Z420. I upgraded to the 800 G1 from a Lenovo i3 based machine with 8GB of RAM and a mechanical drive. I looked at the cost of upgrading it and it surely added up to more than I paid for this refurbished HP. This machine blows the Lenovo away in a big way. There is zero bloat-ware, it boots at lightning speed, handles AutoCAD 3D / Mechanical Desktop, , ORCAD schematic capture to design rule checking, to netlist generation and PCB Layout without a problem. It is also a night and day improvement when it comes to Video editing and rendering. It is a very fast process where before I would walk away and pray my project completed before I grew old and was in a rest home ;-) , DVD architect, Reaper, Vegas, Sony Music Studio, Sony Movie Maker, and other demanding applications run very efficiently now even as I do other research and multitask on the second monitor. The i7-4770 Intel processor is not a beast of a processor but this platforms combination of hardware seems to work extremely well, actually beyond my expectations. I added a 3TB mechanical drive partitioned in half, Drive E is the backup drive, and Drive F is where I put a massive collection of technical documents , reference and electronic project pictures, documentation and the working files of numerous electronic, factory automation, and vacuum tube designs I have done over the years.I am not a Gamer as I prefer to be a creator so I cannot comment on Gaming but one would be hard-pressed to get a demanding video card into this unit and with the SFF Power Supply. This brings me to the Cons: I have not seen a SFF Power Supply of higher Wattage available for these machines. If someone has, let me know. in retrospect there are only 3 SATA connectors on the Motherboard taken by the DVD-RW, 1TB SSD and now my 3TB mechanical drive occupying the third. adding a PCIe SATA card is out of the question as I am very sure that would be taxing on the SFF PS. I also believe that 32GB RAM is the maximum for this machine.....But who's complaining at $300 dollars it is what it is and a major upgrade at that ! I'm just adding this as a FYI so folks don't over tax the SFF platform.I Love the machine ! and thank you.BTW: My video editing is at a amateur level and I know there are more complex and demanding videos and more demanding software at the professional level. Also I do more simplistic 3D CAD Modeling than many folks. I cannot give any input in those areas at higher levels.I do have complex music with many tracks using software DAW programs and various VSTs and analog instrument inputs with a nice Pesonus studio interface , Midi sound banks etc. at the end i end up with many layers going on. Those projects run very well on this $300 HP. With no latency issues. Also video quality and resolution is fine for the above mentioned programs I use. . For gaming ( and the popular programs I read keep getting more demanding , and it drives the hardware industry Hmmm ? Anyhow again ‘ I think ‘ one may want a different platform as I have friends that are big into gaming. With Power Supplies, liquid cooling With a crap load of fans , RGB everything is some kind of Rage for some reason. And the price of a GPU card for gaming is outrageous and many ate huge. I do like the fancy GPU software control for those cards. . Add gaming to a product and it costs much more. I’m not hating by any means. But this is not the platform for anything close to those gamibg platforms. May work fine as is but response and smoothness I suspect would suffer. This works great for my needs and I would like to look for a higher wattage Supply in this SFF as to add a PCIe for added , and fast SATA ports and a RAID drive array. If I can’t that’s fine , it is still great machine for the price and it is my main workstation. My personal NAS will handle the Raid issue. enterprise NAS it is not. With the awesome free NAS software and not at a massive cost , it will be fine.If your like me with your needs you can’t beat this bargain price relative to the great performance.Lots of rambling there but with that processor it exceeded my expectations. Big time. .

I did not recieve the computer that I ordered
I recieved my order 11 days after it was shipped. I ordered a HP elite 800 series computer. I received a Prodesk 600 series , which is an older computer than I ordered. NO, I don't want to return this computer for another one . I have already set this one up and it works well.

Great Option when your in a financial bind
Older HP desktop case is good but the authorized refurbishing definitely added some nice item Ike an ssd hard drive. I was shocked that I was forced to add a USB bluetooth & a high speed WIFI adapter. Still. I think that given the current market and the ability to purchase continuing tech support after the Refurbisher's parts & labor warranty expire, this unit is a good purchase when money is short.

Nice affordable PC
Great deal for a 32GB memory, 1 Terabyte HDD, Intel i7 CPU, HP Desktop. Very minor scratches and performance is great. I am thinking about getting a second one before they are gone.

Amazing desktop system with plenty of memory and an SSD drive for about $250.
I cloned the hard drive from my old computer which was on it's last legs to a new Samsung 870 EVO, and replaced the El Cheapo SSD in the system. I had a few days of frustration in getting the BIOS to recognize the new drive (Yes, I tested the new SSD on another system and it worked perfectly). It did not recognize any boot devices.I called tech support and the technician had me reset some options on the BIOS. No luck on that. I remembered that many years ago, I disabled devices on a system, and then re-enabled the devices. Viola, I was able to get the BIOS to recognize the new SSD.Impressive. Windows 10 Pro boots in about 10 seconds.32 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD and an optical CDRW drive for almost nothing ($250.00).Superb. I'm impressed, and I am an old school techie.Good work HP. Good work, Skytech on the refurb.

Great computer for the price
Bought this for some friends who needed to replace an old dinosaur that would barely run Windows 10 - slow didn't begin to describe the old beastie! This one is so much faster and that makes it so much easier to use for them.Only caveat so far is the DVD player doesn't work, or rather it somewhat does when you can get it to open. It also was advertised as having RW capabilities, but Windows Media Player, and several other media software never recognize that there is a CD or DVD in the tray when trying to burn. In fact, almost all the time the "Burn" selection is unavailable. Pulling the tower's cover shows that the installed player is ROM, and nothing indicates it can write. I'll probably simply replace it with something I have laying around.Otherwise, I'm satisfied and my friends are well-pleased - no more telling the computer to do something and then driving to town for a leisurely breakfast while waiting for the program to respond!

Can you explain what I should do?
WARNINGBesides I got the computer with these broken partsAfter getting my order I received an email from a company that I do not know (Geek tech support) telling me that in 48 hours I would be charged $ 400 on my credit card for a service of a software that I do not know and that I never acquired. When I called them to ask for an explanation, they said that when I bought the computer I was automatically subscribed to a software subscription (WHICH IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT). Even though I never acquired any service I wanted to make sure that I would not be charged for something that I never asked for so I called them, then they tried to trick me, asking me for remote access to my computer without warning me beforehand, and later they tried to make me open a page to access my computer once again even though they said that they were not going to do so, trying to trick me .I want to emphatically denounce this situation so that other Amazon customers are not at risk of being scammed when making a purchase, please take the appropriate actions.

DID NOT WORK-False Advertising about being RENEWED and ready for use.
As Advertised, Like new. Came packaged up like NEW. It stated that it needed to be hooked up to the internet for Start Up. Hooked it all up, Screen said, Windows had to do REPAIR.....Then monitor would shut off and then CPU turned off. Tried several times to start. All I got was a frozen screen stating Windows Repair, and again monitor would shut down to power saving mode and CPU turned off. Tried plugging in the keyboard and mouse, no lights on either. Thought I could use keyboard to wake up Monitor to continue Windows Repair. Nothing worked. I Was very skeptical about purchasing a RENEWED Computer, Lets say I will never order that way again. Falsely advertised the it was inspected and ready to use. NO SO...Very Disappointed.

problems started RIGHT after 90 day warranty expired.
I have always been leery about purchasing anything when it comes to computers or electronics that is refurbished. Especially computers. At first this was working great. Didn't realize how inadequate the video card was going to be for what I need to use it for. That's fine I got past that. Unfortunately this computer only comes with a 90-day warranty through the company that refurbishes it. And of course my issue started about 2 to 3 weeks after the 90-day warranty started. I kept hearing the connecting a new device and disconnecting that device notification going on and off in my headset. The same notification that you would hear when you plug something into the USB port. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me where it was coming from. No matter what I plugged in to what USB port, I kept having that same notification sound popping in and out of my headset. In the last week I have gotten the blue screen of death as they call it, several times. I don't know what the problem is. I am very tech/computer savvy and have looked into this issue and I can't figure out what could potentially be the issue. I have run malwarebytes, and nothing scanned with Windows defender and nothing. I WAS using it for work until I lost my job so this isn't ideal I the least. So now I have to save money that I don't have {since I just lost my job) and save it, so that I can take this to a repair Depot and have them take a look at it such as Canada Computers.I do NOT recommend purchasing this computer form this company. If you pruchase a refurbished computer, make sure it comes with a 1 YEAR warranty. NOT 90 days.

Great Computer
My old clunker was dying off and I knew I had to get myself a new computer. Considering getting a 'renewed' computer got me worried about what I would be getting and in what shape it would be in. But the temptation and price won me over. Conclusion: I love this computer and I love the fact that I got so much more than I expected. First, it's in great shape with no signs of previous ownership. Second (and quite important I might add), I got myself a super fast machine with 32gb of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, several USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. This thing goes zero to 60 in record time. Now that rocks and for this price it's rock'n roll folks. Another pleasant value added plus is the fact that the computer comes without the bloated unwanted programs and stuff commonly installed on 'new' computers - what a relief...The computer was shipped with thick protective foam on all sides and came with a keyboard, mouse and a plug in internet dongle. Just plugged it in, started it up and enjoyed..Another conclusion: I'm really glad I got this computer - it answers and will answer all of my needs for years to come. I highly recommend this product. If you get it you won't be sorry..
