Excellent quality with some great features... But you pay for it.
I bought this pack to take out on day camps and for general day to day wear. The recycled material was a good selling point. The bag is really well made with deceptively powerful but simple features. The front of the bag unzips in a way that provides really good access to the contents. The straps and handle can be buttoned down to stow away neatly and the two side pockets will take most 500ml drinks bottles - although Nalgene type bottles and canteens are probably a bit large for them. The back section has a built-in pad to provide comfort and can be removed to be used as a sitter. The size is just right for day camps, it will easily take a 3x3 tarp, hammock, light poncho, first aid kit and CAT, knife and saw, sunglasses, coat, sundry bags for wood collection or rubbish and my EDC stuff (Swiss army knife, lighter, fuel canister and wallet) in the front pocket. I can also use a carabiner to clip a canteen to the top handle. The lack of strap padding doesn't affect the comfort at all, and as a result, the bag is surprisingly comfortable even with a good few kilos of kit in, if packed properly. It sits nicely at the top of my shoulders and doesn't sag or slip, extended wear is still very comfortable. One negative is the lack of a rain cover, which would have been nice, given the pricey nature of Fjallraven kit. It's so far stood up to some fairly soggy northern English weather, but it'd have been a nice inclusion. That said, the quality is very good and I forget who said "the quality lingers long after the bitter taste of the price paid", but it rings true with most Fjallraven kit. I'd recommend for any outdoors types wanting something for day camps or days out but would also be good for school/uni use (particularly for heavy books and smaller folders) or just general day to day use.

Great value smallish rucksack
I've coveted a Fjällräven bag for a long time and finally bought a re-cycled version that I love. It's perfect for work and holds up well to general commuting strain. It seems pretty robust. I can fit my iPad, water bottle, a book, glasses case and umbrella comfortably with room to spare. Front pocket is useful as well. The all grey is stylish and I feel good knowing it's entirely re-cycled. Recommend if you're after a slightly smaller rucksack that stops you carrying too many unnecessary things!

Best everyday bag I've ever owned
I decided to get a Kanken bag after seeing a few around. Decided I like the Re Kanken as the badge is a bit more subtle. Being honest, when it first arrived I thought that no way was it worth the money...simple straps, 2 pockets, 2 simple handles and that's it. Genuine annoyance was setting in looking at it. Thought all the reviews can't be wrong and they are aren't. It's simplicity, turns out is it's best feature. I carry a 13inch laptop in it, general work stuff waterproof coat and snacks. No more opening numerous pockets to remember where i put something. You can fit a surprising amount in it and it's light as a feather fully loaded . The way the straps cross over, they support the bag and make them the most comfortable straps I ever used which is just so odd when you look at them, but they are. Got caught it a really heavy down pour last week and bag was bone dry inside which, baring in mind I've got my laptop in was a relief! Over all, super happy with my new bag and can't recommend enough.

Grown up eco-friendly version of the original
The best backpack I have found for my needs. I'm always on the go (gym, work, travel) and commute in London and travel the country with a MacBook Air. I'm a journalist and needed a bag that fits a lot, like this one, that goes with both smart and casual wear. Great squareish shape, non bulky and doesn't make me look like I'm carrying a small fridge! Good pocket at the front for cards and things, there's also two long side slip pockets. I put my umbrella in one of them. The logo on the front is black embroidery and this is the main reason I bought this bag rather than the other Fjallraven ones with the big white reflective logos. I wanted something a bit more streamlined and not too obvious. That and because it's made of recycled material. Straps are thin but don't dig into my shoulders when the bag is packed. The only thing I'm concerned about is that the bottom of the bag could get scuffed and worn over time

Fashionable and practical but not for heavy burdens.
I've had a lot of compliments on this bag. I like the discrete logo and the fact that it's waterproof. The thin straps don't cause an issue when carrying a daily burden, but I do not recommend carrying something heavy in this. The straps really dig in to the extent it gave me horrible cramps when I was finally able to take the bag off and sit down. Anyway, great bag but don't be fooled by the "straps are comfortable even when heavy" reviews.

Great backpack - used daily
One of our most favoured back packs over the years. Really helpfull for a family with small kids, several ipads fit in neatly due to the rectangle shape. But sometimes I bring it to work as well. Its a really light and thin backpack which makes it attractive to take along on day trips and sightseeing. The only consequence of this light design is that it lacks a padded back or bottom, so you got to be careful with carrying around electronics. We might actually get a second one.

Love it!
Great great great bag as expected! I wanted a bag that I can carry around everyday while commuting to work and fits my MacBook Air. This bag does the job perfectly! It can fit lots of other things as well, but is also quite fashionable at the same time! The straps are not the most comfortable ones, as there’s no padding. However I knew about the design of the bag when ordering and I’m so happy with it! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for something similar!

Incredibly flimsy
Disappointingly flimsy, made from extremely thin material that feels as though it would rip if more than a pencil case were placed inside. In fact, the sturdiness of the bag reminded me much more of a football boot-bag and I struggled to see how anyone could justify spending more than a tenner on this rucksack. The shoulder straps are also narrow and unpadded, making for an uncomfortable wear. In fact, the only things the rucksack had going for it were the colour and the brand name. All in all, given the cost of the bag, I had expected much better quality. Returned for a refund.
