Then She Was Gone: A Novel Paperback – 6 November 2018

It was a great experience reading this book. The story is amazing and it keep you wondering what happens next. But sometimes it felt like the story was predictable. This was my first book by Lisa Jewell and I have ordered 2 more of her books. Really excited to read them both.

This was a roller coaster ride.The positives of this book are very crisp writing, and it's excellent at making the reader go through the book and keeping the excitement and tempo high. That doesn't mean to say that the book doesn't have good vocabulary. It does.The characters are really fleshed out, the motivation and the treatment seems real, while though sometimes it drags on for too much but, that's perfectly understandable .The plot is richly thought out, and very intricately designed and built. While again it sometimes, slags and a few things could have been avoided, and a few things felt predictable, overall, it keeps the reader in the story.

Lisa Jewell is a gifted author effortlessly blending emotion mystery and thrill in her writing. And this book doesn’t disappoint. Wonderful writing. That said this is a dark sad book which could wear you down psychologically if you are so oriented. Just a heads up

No Spoiler. Those who like to read thriller books can skip this as I would more likely to put this book under drama as there is no suspense and thrill in the story.

Nice Book

The story is well written, with very little fluff. Most writers bore the readers with overly descriptive writing (ahem Gillian Flynn ahem ahem) but Lisa Jewell paced this book really well. The ending was so emotional. Loved it. This is my first Lisa Jewell novel. Going to read Invisible Girl next.

What a wonderfully crafted narrative. Despite being someone who reads thriller novels often, I never could anticipate what’s coming next. Could not put the book down once I started with it. Lisa Jewell is a master storyteller.

Despite this, she never gave up hope of finding Ellie.After 10 years, Laurel is endeavouring to embark on her life. She meets Floyd, a single dad. However, when Laurel finally gets to meet Floyd's daughter, Poppy, the striking resemblance between her and Ellie makes Laurel unnerved. Laurel becomes sceptical after noticing a few more similarities.This leads Laurel into a mysterious loop.
