My mother bought me a copy of this book when I did my GCSE's, the play itself is one that is socially momentous in people's attitudes towards autism. I was inspired by the systematic elements of the play and how they was reflective of Christopher's psychology. I like the modernised essence to this book and the feeling of captivation I experienced when I first read this is a vibe I tend to carry with me into reading more modern texts.

Christopher is such an annoying little kid you actually end up empathising with his flaws, talents and issues. The play takes your breath away multiple times with perfect rhythm and fast-paced sections, which all come together to form a compelling family story - with all the drama that may obviously occur. And it all comes through thanks to Simon's writing and to how he crafted his characters.

Great story but in this case written for a play script. Didn't actually realise this when I downloaded it. Apart from that, if you don't know the story is about an autistic boy who finds a dog with a pitch fork in him & decides to investigate what happened despite his father & lots of neighbours telling him not to. While investigating he finds out that his mother, who he has been told was dead, is in fact alive & living in London. So he sets off alone to find her. It's a really beautifully written story about the life of autism & how it affects those who live with it & how difficult some very ordinary day things are for them & those they live with.

I love the way that the entire story line continuously interlinks. If you don't pay attention on a page.. You lose the plot and must re-read it. There's so much detail and this challenged me to focus and figure out what was happening and when it was actually happening because the timeline is scattered. I loved it!

I felt the ending left a lot to be desired. It wasn't all it was made out to be at all. I wont be going to see it on stage now after reading it

Saw this production as part of a college trip and I loved the fact that the main character whose autistic, as I'm autistic myself and I could relate to that. I brought this book because I chose the play for an essay at Uni at it helped a lot when it came to analysing, highlighting and just refreshing my memory of the play itself! Hope I get to see this play again!

Great characters - so much more than a children’s book - it’s story about life, and how difficult living can be - almost as difficult as solving for “n” in you A Level exam - touching - human - and compelling - BRAVO!
