What a great little chopper!
The first thing that strikes me is its so pretty! Most hatchets are rather boring and samey! This little beauty is, well beautiful! I have a large old tree trunk in the yard so in no time I was out at it with the new buy. Its not built to take down a forest, but it came very sharp and did a fine job attacking the dead trunk. This hatchet was bought to provide tinder for either a small wood stove or an open fire when camping. I hike every where so its small size and comparatively light weight is ideal. Why pay a fortune on a GBruks mini when you can get a little cracker like this.

Fantastic hand axe!
I haven't used it yet but it's got a handle and a sharp blade so I'm figuring that part will go as planned. I wanted a more traditional looking axe rather than some of the more modern ones which I'm sure do the same job, just aren't necessarily as aesthetically pleasing. As someone else commented, the handle has been lacquered so it could well be leather under there but I couldn't be sure - presumably it's far more weatherproof this way and it doesn't bother me. Someone else talked about stickers on the metal - sure there are a couple and it is slightly annoying but a dry cloth and some WD40 soon gets rid of them - there are bigger problems in the world. It's exactly what I was hoping for when I saw the link - definitely not the cheapest but it depends what you're after.

No Doubts very happy with purchase
After reading some of the reports of bad workmanship and finish of these Axes, I was half hearted about making this purchase through Amazon. I have just received the Axe today and I’m blown away with the quality of how nice this axe is actually finished, I am a very Persnickety person so find fault when others can’t and I can’t find any fault in workmanship to this Axes finish and quality, it simply is quality, so don’t listen to the bad reviews on this Axe supplied by Amazon as being poorly made, as yes sometimes there maybe bad product out there from time to time but for the most these Axe are sublimely finished without fault. So Don’t be put off get on and buy one, I would definitely buy another one from Amazon.👍

Good value
I really liked this product, comfy handgrip and it’s size and weight was perfect for throwing, nice and robust as well for when my aim wasn’t that good and it hit handle first! The pouch it comes with is a nice touch as well with a handy belt loop on it.

Good hatchet
Good hatchet, blade was okay to start off with but once sharpened it's a lethal piece of kit. Only problem I've found so far is that the handle is so smooth that when you get a little sweaty it becomes pretty dangerous to use. It slipped out of my hand during a swing and only just missed my shin, I normally wear gloves when using axes and the sort but I definitely recommend using some gloves when your with this one. The leather brace around the handle totally absorbs all the impact out of the hatchet (within reason), never once did o feel any sort of displeasure in my hand or wrist. And a little bonus to the fact that the presentation on the tool is superb

Great for coconuts
Mrs went through a number of flimsy but expensive kitchen axes on nothing else but coconut shells. This is cheaper and solidly built for my use case. No idea for diy use But it busts trough coconuts (brown and green) no problems just be sure to use a beefy chopping board, I found a a thick 60cmx60cm oak piece from my local timber yard. Only grips are bottom of handle had scuff marks so it was not in pristine condition but blade was clean have’s it a good clean before use

Very good quality
Arrived quickly. No faults: the quality control issues raised in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed. Very comfortable and balanced in the hand:it really sits well in the hand. I wear a 'gardening' glove when I use it so I have that extra grip, but I have problems with my hands. I'm really impressed with this, it's a quality piece of kit.

Es el mejor hacha que tengo con mucha diferencia. La forma del mango es excepcional. Es dinero bien invertido. Una herramienta para toda la vida.

This Estwing Sportsman's Axe has become an essential part of my camping gear. The 12-inch size is the perfect balance—compact enough to pack easily but substantial enough to handle real work around the campsite. I've used it for splitting kindling, chopping firewood, and clearing brush, and it handles everything beautifully. The one-piece forged steel construction is bomber. There's no head coming loose or handle breaking like you get with wooden-handled axes. It feels incredibly solid and balanced in hand. The grip is comfortable even during extended use, and the shock reduction actually works—my hands don't get fatigued. The edge came razor sharp out of the box and has held up impressively well. A quick touch-up with a file occasionally and it's back to slicing through wood effortlessly. This is genuine American-made quality that will outlast me. It's not the cheapest option, but you're buying it once. After using cheaper axes that failed, I wish I'd started with the Estwing. If you camp, hike, or just need a reliable hatchet, this is the one. Absolute workhorse. Highly recommend!

لكن إن كنت تركز على أعمال مراجعة/تنصيب خفيفة فقط، فقد تكون “أكبر من اللازم” وتُفضل أداة أخف.

Nice comfortable handle, blade bites well into the wood, better than some of my more expensive Scandinavian axes, which surprised me. I would definitely recommend this product.
