Zinsser ZINBIN500 500 ml B.I.N Primer/Sealer Stain Killer Paint

Excellent stuff. I had seen this recommended on budget diy groups and was dubious anything for this price could cover the hideous huge patch we had on our ceiling. There had been a leak from the bathroom above, which our council has repaired but they classed the ceiling as cosmetic, so not essential to repair. When I sprayed this it didn’t really look like much had happened, so I was pleasantly surprised when I painted over with white emulsion and the stain wasn’t visible. Follow the instructions carefully. I didn’t find this expensive for my purpose as getting a repair person out would have cost hundreds and there was a lot in one can.

A bit expensive Tips... Dries too quick (sometimes a good thing) Wear a mask and vent the house because the fumes are harmful and very strong Clean brushes/rollers and splashes with Methylated Spirit only (nothing else works) Stir well before use...very well. The good stuff... This primer is a great product you can use on multiple surfaces and covers stains vey well Repaint or paint over in 20 minutes Lasts a long time if you seal the lid after use I have used a lot of this product over a lot of years and it has never let me down.

Great for covering oil stains and ferrous particles in pebbledash prior to top coats

Great coverage, used on knotted pine doors so we could paint them without thep knots showing through. Worked a treat. Would definitely buy again

After painting some wood panelling with 4 coats of thick gloss paint and having big varnish stains and knots of wood still showing through the paint, I decided to give this a go, and I'm SO glad I did! No need to sand or anything, I gave it a good coat which didn't use much of the tin at all as it's incredibly thin. Left it for an hour and then put a coat of gloss over the top, and it looks fantastic, no stains or knots showing through at all. I'm going to use this to see if it will cover mould stains left from a previous tenant! The brush I used had to be chucked out as I don't have any methylated spirits to clean it, but it was a cheap brush so no harm done. I was slightly worried before buying this, as several reviewers have said they had trouble with the paint leaking in transit. When it arrived (several days before the estimated date!) it was wrapped in 3 layers of thick, sticky packaging, a layer of bubble wrap and a layer of duct tape, sealing it all down. It was extremely secure!

Best sealant ever, used other variants of products to cover damp stain patch on stairs wall after having issue with leaky roof but nothing worked properly. This stuff is awesome, not easiest to paint on with brush, found easier with roller. Covered stain easily and no issues since. We even had one wall reskimmed with plaster over top of this and had no issues with plaster on top of it. Highly recommended if you have persistent stain coming through wall.

Bought to prevent mould coming back over the winter on a wall by the window. Too early to say how effective it is for that but I’m confident it will work. There is a slightly brownish shade to it so not completely white but I’ll be painting over it anyway so no issue there. Seems decent for the price if it can prevent the mould from coming back. There is a strong smell when painting but doesn’t linger for too long with the windows open and doesn’t smell at all after.

Used to prime bits on kitchen walls before painting. Then had undercoat and two coats of blue paint. At a certain angle can see blemish of this on wall in certain lights. Wouldn’t use again.

Je n'y croyais pas et pourtant ça fonctionne. Utilisé pour une location où une fuite d'eau avait eu lieu au dessus de la douche. Le produit agit comme un primaire d'accroche qui permet de le recouvrir de peinture. Attention : très toxique, on ne le ressent pas tout de suite mais en milieu confiné, éviter de respirer les émanations de ce produit. Un miracle couteux mais qui fait le job au delà de mes espérances.

I have used it before to cover stains before painting. Only solution for oil marks left by blue tack.
