Good professional level jigsaw at a good price,
This is an excellent all round working tool far superior to my very old jigsaw, very pleased with this long overdue purchase. Included are six blades of 3 types. However note that no 4 mm Allen key is included ( this is used to release the baseplate for chamfer cutting ). It would have been good if a guide fence had been included but this is readily available on Amazon.

Very good and sturdy workhorse.
Although this is a little expensive, if you are looking for a very well built, sturdy workhorse that makes cuts a breeze, I would highly recommend this. I have only used it on wood cuts, but it makes very easy, accurate work of 6in x 4in cuts, and makes cutting formica and wooden kitchen surfaces a pleasure.

All good
Was very impressed with a Mkita circular saw I bought recently, so decided to go with the same manufactrer when my jigsaw needed replacing. Without doubt, the main the difference I noticed, compared to my old one, was the lack of blade drfft/wander when cutting out for inserts in a 38mm laminated worktop. It stays straight. I used the blade I got with the saw and covered the worktop face with masking tape for a great finish - no need for a down-cut blade. I didn't use the orbital action, as this can tend to chip the edges of the laminate, as with all jgsaws, but I tried it on a scrap piece and it flew through. The removable plastic shoe that protects the cutting surface is a good addition. The box is not as good as some other brands, but that's a small matter. It's a well made, heavy and solid saw with a no-tool blade change. Delighted.

Second one of these that I've bought
This is the second one of these that I've bought (the second was a present for a family member). Very impressive jigsaw which is why I bought the same one. This is a powerful and heavy duty power tool. Accurate cuts and easy to use...I'm a DIYer but this is easily tradesman quality. Well made but not too heavy. Useful storage case...the only downside is that the dust extraction fitting is of a very narrow diameter. You would struggle to find anything to attach it to any dust filtering system. That isn't a problem for me but something for potential purchasers to consider.

Quality mid priced prosumer Jigsaw
After much deliberation between this jigsaw and the Bosch GST150 BCE, I chose the Makita due to some negative reviews of the Bosch as compared to the previous models. The Makita 4350FCT was packaged adequately by Amazon and came within a purpose built Makita tough case. Included in the case was the dust extraction adaptor, 3 sets of jigsaw blades (2 pairs of wood cutting blades and a pair of metal cutting blades) and a plastic shoe for the base plate. The jigsaw has a soft start mechanism which avoids jolts if having to restart in the middle of work and is not that noisy compared with other cheapy jigsaws. The grip is comfortable to hold and good control of the jigsaw is possible. I used the jigsaw with Bosch blades and obtained good results. There is the potential for blade deflection depending on the type of blade used as with most jigsaws but control of this can be down to technique. It would of been nice to have some form of deflection control device like in the Bosch 140GST. The plastic splinter guard that sits atop the base plate is a useful addition as it has a small notch with which to follow a cut line which avoids the need to "lean in" over the jigsaw to see the line of cut as this jigsaw is "taller" than others I have used previously. It does sometimes get caught so after a while it will break and a new one will be required. The jigsaw unfortunately does not come with a guide rail that you get as standard with other cheaper jigsaws so straight cuts will need a straight edge. The FCT version also incorporates an LED light to shine on the surface being cut which really does help in darker environments. The LED light is illuminated when the trigger is squeezed and extinguished when the trigger is released. The only downside is the dust extraction tool. It is quite small and has a small opening (about 20mm) and I think is purposely built for attaching to their dust extraction machines which is understandable, however, diyer's like myself tend to connect such tools to old vacuum cleaners for a level of dust extraction so it is not possible to natively do so. I have not been able to come across an adaptor for connecting to a standard vacuum hose attachment so there is currently a lot of dust when cutting. Overall, I'm pleased with the Makita 4350FCT, if feels like a quality product and enables good control. My particular downside is the dust extraction adaptor not being able to interface to a standard vacuum hose as compared with previous power tools, which gives it four stars for me, but I now understand that these products at the prosumer level tend to use these specific adaptors which are meant to be used with dedicated dust extraction machines. Keeping this in mind, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

ordered june 2020-mine is from a batch made in romania - works great, smooth, precise, good grip & feel
Good solid machine, heavy & secure blade action..no visible wobble. I was using a borrowed cheap jig last weeks making some furniture at home.. First impressions with the makita here...motor sounds quieter, much less vibration & more solid & harmonious. On the old yoke if you hold the blade and shake it side to side, there was a distinct movement "wobble", on the makita here its secure & doesn't move a millimeter. One small thing i don't quite understand, there is the little transparent plate there..i think is to avoid splintering of timber...it distinctly touches & rubs the blade on one side & i suppose while using is going to get filed down...hmm...that's not very precision built. The unit just arrived yesterday & i've been busy with no time to work more but i'll update this review once i use it for tasks. So far, thrilled & excited to use. Mine arrived with 6 blades i think..(i'll recheck that later on) Only gripe was that due to the covid situation worldwide, it took a long while to arrive plus as the tracking reached the almost arrived date, i get a message on my phone saying that there has been an issue with the delivery & its been sent back !!! wtf !!! that really got me mad & i went about and ordered it again as i needed it in some urgency..actually a week earlier and i would have already run it through a lot of good usage. Next day, delivery update & said on its way? hmm..strange times atm anyways so all is grand and acceptable Overall well pleased here Not my first Makita tool, tried and tested now, happy with the brand Cheers update: much use later. I LOVE IT !!! It has a powerful motor, good weight, smooth action. Yes, that plastic plate mentioned before is getting filed down due to touching the blade. Still have it attached though as its not affecting the cut in any bad way. I've combined this with a set of Bosch blades. My all time fav is the Bosch clean wood series (currently only using for timber projects). Beauty of a machine, you can know the motor is doing a good job due to the response action, vibration, movement and cut. I've managed to cut so smooth and clean, i never knew a jigsaw could cut so clean (novice here of course, more used to manual hand tools & saws & drills etc). So, i can only say good things about this Makita. Not the cheapest unit but money well spent & i reckon it will be with me for many a moon.

Stunning Jigsaw.
Wow. Gotta say I am seriously impressed with this Jigsaw. As ever Makita's build quality is superb and it is beautifully balanced so although it is quite a heavy piece of kit it handles easily and cuts just so smoothly. I previously had a fairly old Bosch which has done good service but was just getting too worn to give a decent cut anymore - I recently had to trim down some 2 x 4" lengths and the Bosch just couldn't keep the cut straight, but this Makita went through it like the proverbial hot knife through butter - what a difference! I have so far used mine to cut several types and thicknesses of wood, and it literally flies through each task. It has been a pleasure to use, so much so that I am finding myself actually looking for projects around the house that I can do with it!

Excellent jigsaw - recommended
Having only had a cheap jigsaw before this was a revelation - cuts like a knife through butter. I have used it to fit a floor and it has been a joy to use. I couldn’t quite figure out how to attach the extraction hose but I just put my Hoover tube nearby to suck up the debris. The light is very handy and it stays on course with ease. I would recommend this jigsaw to anyone unless you are dead set on a wireless one. Personally I didn’t find the wire got in the way of operation. Very happy with this product.
