Great watch, nice functionality
Nice time piece, does more than I want it to, instructions need carefully following to get some stuff it does switched off. Overall NICE

Good quality watch.
Ordered this as I needed a tough, durable watch for when I'm doing training with the army reserves. Had the watch and been using it for a few days and it is brilliant. Very comfortable to wear, it's so light you'll forget you're wearing a watch at all. It seems to be very well made and put together, it holds time accurately as well. The Dial is very easy to read at a glance and although there is no internal light or glow feature it is still very easy to check the time in low light conditions because the white on black contrasts so much One thing worth mentioning, the watch has an audible ticking which although not loud, might irritate some people. Still gets a 5 stars from me though, I knew about that before I ordered it and the ticking doesn't bother me at all. Is this watch the be all and end all of "tough" watches, no it isn't, but I suspect you could do far worse for double or triple the money you'll pay for this. Pound for pound or dollar for dollar, it is a brilliant bit of kit and well worth every penny. I have no doubt this will stand up to whatever gets thrown at it while I'm using it.

nice cheap watch with vintage and milwatch look
I bought this watch because it has a vintage and military look. It's simple and a no frills watch. The brown plastic case is matte and sturdy and has a very good finish (does not look cheap and most people won't see that it is plastic unless with a close look); the watch “glass” is also plastic. There is a small metal winding knob with a good grip. The back cover is stainless steel attached in the corners with 4 fillips screws. So, easy to open for battery replacement (the battery type is engraved in the case back cover). The spring bars are not visible, the watch strap covers them completely (I presume they are metal). The (green/olive/khaki) strap is a regular strap with a silver metal buckle (not a nato strap) and is very (very !) soft. It feels like velvet and is nothing like a rugged nato strap. The strap has 8 holes. The watch is so light and the strap so soft I once even forgot I was wearing it and only realised after some time in bed I still had it on. It is not a big or chunky watch and looks bigger on the picture, so if you like big watches it's not for you. There is no date function. It has a black dial with crisp and good readable white 12-hour digits and with military time format under the 12-hour format (in smaller digits). Every 5 minutes is marked with a white triangle pointing inside to the digit and there is a tiny white stripe as minute markers. All these markings make the dial/hour readable in the blink of an eye. The hands are also white and rectangular (very seventies) and have the width of one minute (they fit exactly between the minute markers). I especially like the second hand in the form of an arrow becoming very thin needle on the pointing side; it has a circular part just before the end of the hand which is a nice feature. The second hand is a jumper (not a sweeper). The needle point at the end of the second hand mostly doesn't align with the minute markings. The illumination isn't great. I haven't had the chance to lay the watch in the sun and check the luminosity afterwards (when “charged”) but I think it will be mediocre (if not I will edit this review). Compared to my Speedy (even when Speedy is not “charged” by the sun) the difference is really day and night, but then again Speedy costs a 150 times more. Other reviews mention a loud ticking but in my opinion this ticking is not so bad. If the watch is 10 to 15 cm away from my ear I can't hear it any more. Last but not least : it keeps time perfectly. So if you're looking for a cheap, vintage and milwatch-look watch this is the one. I think it's ideal as as a second watch for gardening, camping, DIY-ing and other activity’s where your watch might be scratched or damaged and/or where you want some water resistance. But on the other hand there is no reason why this watch could not be worn on an day to day basis.

Good value , but not quite as described
Well the dial isn't black as its described it's more of a sage green , which is ok , the strap is quite thin and short , for anyone with a thick wrist this may be a problem , and the buckle is flimsy so it's difficult to fit , but otherwise it's a neat little army type watch , and it's cheap , it's about twice this price in trendy clothing shops

Camper Watch - Black Dial - Olive Nylon Strap
I bought this watch on Saturday 28th May 2011, so I have finally decided to review it and give my verdict. This is definitely my favourite wrist watch, which I have ever worn. I have had many watches in the past, none have matched this one. It has an easy to read dial with the 24 hour numbers displayed. Also I love that it is small and very lightweight, unlike other watches which felt heavy. So it is very practical. Plus I like the colour of the olive nylon strap; it looks different sort of like military garb. I am glad I have finally found a great watch which matches my lifestyle. One minor little niggle is that it doesn't have the date calendar feature, which I have seen on other watches. But overall this is the best watch I have.

Less than average performance
Good looking wristwatch with clear numerals. However, up close the build quality looks very plasticky Night visibility - Poor, after prolonged time in strong daylight - glow is dimmed right down after 1h Water resistant - Very poor, tested at 10ft over a period of 1 week and the crystal starts to fog, then watch stops completely. this is due to the rear casing being a cheap 4 point screw back with poor seals. Crystal - Poor, very soft compound which scratches very easily. Time keeping - Average, set to GMT at day 1, loses 5 seconds a day. Build quality - Poor, weight is very light, casing is quite fragile (but has average shock proofing) Summary - day to day it's ok, in the shower etc. but any light activity may damage the watch. Spend the extra £12 and get a MWC G10 if you want something reliable, that lasts.

trust me ....
I like watches, I usually wear a Rolex Submariner, classic top drawer item, but I do get bored, and I do like "functional watches", this is without doubt the cheapest functional watch you can buy, I simply LOVE it. I also spent £4 on a replacement NATO strap in a light sand / beige colour and now it looks AWESOME. Seriously, it's low rent but eyecatching, you are making an anti-statement with this watch, plus it's waterproof too, keep it on, all day every day. It takes me back to my childhood and my first Timex watch, total spent including a contrasting new strap? around £21 and I am so pleased. You want neat, tidy, fashion, geek chic, nerdy anti statement - get this ....

This is the nicest looking watch Timex has done in a long time. I have worn their Expedition watches before, usually my watch of choice for deployments, because they are basically indestructible. And if they do get scuffed or beat up, they do not cost a fortune to replace. I like the features of this particular watch. The rotating bezel is a major plus. The crystal is slightly recessed behind the bezel to protect it from scratches. And the watch is waterproof. The visibility of the dial and hands is excellent both in daylight and using the awesome Indeglow feature. The nylon fabric watchband is double layer of contrasting color and looks good. The band is stiff for a fabric band, but is surprisingly comfortable and smooth feeling on the arm. I found myself forgetting to take it off at night. I like the analog/digital combo. The digital area defaults to time. It is small and does not light up with the Indeglow. A single button press brings up the date, which is a plus. There are too many features to the tiny digital area: timers, lap, time zones, alarm, etc. With only 3 buttons to seek and set everything, it can be fiddly. Overall, this is one tough watch that is more than it has a right to be. Great value for the money at this low price point.
