Wow what a fantastic kitchen gadget! We make a lot of chicken soup and this is great for getting all the fat out of it. Just ladle the soup through the top, let it settle so the fat rises to the top and squeeze the handle so the fat free soup pours out from the bottom. Also great for gravy and stock.I removed one star because the pin that secures the squeeze mechanism to the handle popped out on its first use. I have pushed it back in but I'm not sure how long it will last. Even if it dies I will definitely purchase another as it is so much better than the old style fat separators. Also I love that it can be bought in both 500ml and 1litre sizes (I went for 1litee) - although the 1litre is more like 850/900ml with the lid on.

I have used a gravy separator jug for many years the one I had has now cracked and worn out so when I found this one I wanted to give it a try. It works brilliantly this new design where the contents go through the bottom of the jug. It is well made and strong. I had bought a cheap one from a supermarket and on the first use it cracked and the hot oil was all over the worktop a false economy. I would recommend this one.
