Awesome Gameplay!
The best Metal Gear game as far as gameplay is concerned. In fact, the gameplay is the best of any game I've played. There are so many ways to approach missions; from the classic stealth techniques to all guns blazing. Ground Zeros is a short prologue to the main game and provides a good backstory to motivate the events of the Phantom Pain. I like that the prisoners that you rescue become available in the Phantom Pain. For the Phantom Pain portion, the tactical buddies add so much to the gameplay. You're choice of buddy and load-out sets you up for combat, stealth or a mixture of both. Fans of the series might be slightly disappointed with the lack of cutscenes driving the story forward. If you want a more story driven experience then I highly recommend that you carefully listen to the cassette tapes that you get at the end of the missions. These tapes give concise but thorough explanations about the significance of the mission and its affect on the story as a whole. In summary, I highly recommend this game to any gamer interested in a 40+ hour adventure.

Addictive, great fun and totally immersive story with great characters and plots.
Great value - got this when it was £20 or so and enjoyed every minute of it. Would have been pretty happy with it even if I'd paid full price - it's that good. Very immersive story line with excellent graphics and action that will keep you playing way past bedtime and has great stealth and combat options. Loved the range of weapons too. Only disappointing part was the post-completion episode featuring Quiet (no spoiler here) which was way too hard for my liking but to be fair that is an add-on episode which is not required to complete the main game though does reveal deeper aspects of the story, especially about Quiet, who is one of the most intriguing characters in the whole game.

The greatest game to never be finished.
I've been a Metal Gear Solid veteran since 2001. It's a great franchise with some hilarious moments. Unfortunately Metal Gear Solid 5 didn't live up to the hype. Gameplay is fantastic but story is rubbish. The plot twist wasn't a good idea (in my opinion) too. I was under the impression that we would get a story like Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith I.e Naked Sanke representing Anakin Skywalker and Big Boss representing Darth Vader. I was looking forward to seeing how the change from Snake going from good to evil was gonna happen but we never got that. It's a very good looking game and the Fox Engein stands out in the spotlight but is let down by the boring story. Unfortunately the game was never finished which is a very big deal for me personally. I personally blame both Konami and Kojima. Konami rushed development along and harassed staff and Kojima seemed more interested in over sexulising Quite than the story or characters (Yes Stephanie Josten who played Quite is very beautiful) but we don't need her shoving her breasts in our faces as we try play the game. Perhapps if Kojima didn't do focus on Quite too much we could have had more of the game I.e Mission 51 Kingdom Of The Flies. The game could become repatative at times but the various weapons in the game definitely help to shake things up and offer new ways to handle missions. The rehashed missions on higher difficulty are awfull, the worst form of padding I've ever seen in a game. With The definitive experience you get both games in one which works out well as you can play one then go straight into the next one. If your a Metal Gear Solid veteran than this game is worth a buy but just be aware of the things I've said above. Its neither rubbish or a masterpiece somewhat in the middle.

The Metal Gear Game for non Metal Gear fans
The Phantom Pain is the most self contained Metal Gear story since Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake eater. I'll go one step further and say that its better than Snake Eater because its 90% game and 10% cutscene. The story can be totally ignored and you'll miss nothing because of how few cutscenes there are. The opening of the game is long. 90% cutscenes but after that its nothing but gameplay. The gameplay is excellent. The best stealth game i've ever played. It really hits Just Cause 2 style notes for me. You can go entirely stealth, guns akimbo or a mix between the 2 and still get the best ranking possible. You have many options for distraction, non lethal, lethal etc. Ground Zeroes is great fun as-well, its a good warm up for the phantom pain. It starts with a long cutscene and ends with one but inetween is great stealth action. I highly reccomend this game for sandbox fans and stealth game fans. This is the stealth game you must buy if the genre has always left you wanting more.

metal gear solid , great but unfinished ( Kojima ( the director ) got kicked out of konami ) but great as ever you will get both ground zero ( the prologue of the story of the skulls ) and the phantom pain plus some comestible dlc worth it ,

Unplayable. No accessibility features.
Unfortunately the game has no accessibility features. Difficulty level has 2 options, normal and difficult. Nowadays I play games on 'easy' level or even 'story level'. As an older gamer in my 60's with slower reflexes and less nimble fingers on the controls this makes the game unplayable for me. The game is only designed for young nimble players.
