KC NaturalTraditional Style Tomato Free Pasta Sauce | 280mg Sodium (2-pack, 1.00)

I got this sauce to try after being placed on a diet that does not allow me to eat tomatoes. I could not imagine never being able to have spaghetti again with the meat sauce and/or meatballs that I like so I was trying to find another option. When I read the ingredients and saw that it is made with carrots, beets, molasses and other items, I couldn't see how it would taste the same, but I decided to try it. Boy, was I surprised! It was sweeter than regular tomato sauce but after I added garlic, onion powder, Italian seasonings, and additional oregano. I didn't give it a 5 because after it heats, it is thicker than regular tomato sauce so it coats the meat well but you don't get the extra sauce for the noodles. My immediate fix for that was to make my spaghetti garlic noodles by adding a garlic butter sauce. That did the trick and it tasted delicious. The next day, I used some of the sauce to make healthy nachos by adding low fat shredded American cheese (not allowed to have cheddar), onions, iceberg lettuce and taco sauce. That was delicious too. I used the remainder of the sauce for an egg white omelet the following morning by adding the same cheese, onions, and bell pepper. Yum! While it is not as affordable as regular sauce, I will definitely buy it again because it allows me to have the food that I enjoy. I can't wait to try it on other dishes.

Love that I can have a spaghetti and meat space again! This is a great sauce that has very similar taste to the real thing. It taste great and no allery symptoms after eating it which is a plus!

Tastes vaguely like pasta sauce and is a little on the watery side, but it's palatable and the best replacement I've found that's free from nightshades.

I love this product! It makes a great pasta sauce, and it adds a tart, vinegary flavor to soups and stews. However, the jars arrive broken more than 50% of the time. I have to order it elsewhere and pay for shipping rather than being able to order it here with Prime.

I’ve tried the other brands and was always disappointed. But I’ve just enjoyed a meatball parm sub for the first time in years and I can’t wait to have another. While you certainly wouldn’t be fooled into thinking it’s real tomato sauce, it tastes good and no weird aftertaste like the other stuff. Great job!

A lot of garlic flavor. Sauce consistency is good but way too much garlic!

A ‘late life’ (hereditary) tomato allergy ‘hit me’ a number of yrs. ago. ☹️ No more red sauces of any kind for me. I recently discovered THIS- WOW! It’s Delicious! I can make meat loaf again- use it on pizza- make lasagne!- use on any pastas! Thank you!! Wonderful!!
