UPDATE: 06/18/20 - The beast continues to perform without missing a beat! I have since maxed out the RAM to 32 GB (2 x 16 GB RAM) and it has no problem running any games at max settings! Currently playng COD Modern Warfare/Warzone without any issues.LOVE LOVE LOVE ASUS!!!My next upgrade down the road? Beef up the graphics car, although with this much RAM I won't need to for a long time.Pros:Very happy overall with this laptop. Excellent performance & built well. Comfortable and responsive keyboard. Keys highly visible in darkness with the red back-lit feature. The display resolution, color, clarity, and brilliance is amazing! This baby can handle existing games at highest settings as well as many of the new titles that are out/will be out. Can't wait to see how it handles Sea of Thieves next month, but based on the recommended game settings from the publisher, it looks like it will handle the game very well at medium to high settings.Cons (Not a big deal though):1. No light indicator to let you know if your Caps, Num or Scroll locks are on or off.2. While gaming, the fan gets pretty loud after a while. Not really an issue if you wear a headset, but keep your left hand away from the exhaust vent. That air blowing out is HOT!Lastly, this is a complaint about Amazon regarding their shipping department. Would it KILL Amazon to use some padding?The laptop arrived in an Amazon box - Which contained the laptop in it's original packaging and a little bit of brown paper. I opened it to find it damaged (Not sure if it was from shipping or from the Manufacturer when packing). Sent it back for a replacement. 2 days later the replacement arrived.....Same kind of Amazon box with the product inside, only this time there was NO PACKING MATERIAL AT ALL. It was just the product box by itself.....Seriously Amazon?Luckily, the replacement was undamaged. As of this review, it's been up and running for 3 and a half days now without problems.First 2 photos are the first laptop that was damaged on arrival. The rest are of the replacement.

Computer arrived right on time as always. This is a very good computer but it has some initial issues. Upon starting it up it took forever to load. I mean like 10 minutes to start up. I removed the McAffee virus protection ( crappy program) and that solved the entire issue.I had read a previous review that mentioned the long start-up time and was surprised when it was all true. McAffee was the culprit. Since then it fires right up and no more waiting.The back-lit keyboard is excellent .. nothing feels cheap about this computer. The screen is amazing. I have played borderlands 2 and Destiny mostly along with other games. I experienced no lag or any stuttering or torn screens.Battery life is actually 5 to 6 hours. Everything else works pretty much as advertised. Its a bit pricey but I think worth every penny.Trash that damned McAffee and start gaming at the speed of light !I would recommend this laptop to everyone !!!!

During the first 3 years, the quality and speed was decent. It handled The Sims4 and several Bioware games pretty well, but I'd definitely recommend getting a fan underneath when gaming as the laptop gets hot pretty quickly. The battery life wasn't bad but not noticably great either. It's also fairly heavy so I kept it in one place, which meant battery life wasn't a big concern in my case.After the third year, the Asus slowed down considerably. By the end of the 4th year, pages freeze regularly when online, opening and loading new tabs and pages takes a while. Game loads took so long it wasn't even worth playing them at a certain point. It continuously turns off whenever I set it to Sleep. Turning on and getting onto the desktop takes progressively longer and longer (5-10 minutes easily). Overall, it was an $800 laptop for 4 mostly-problem-free years, or $200 per year. Not unexpected given the price, but I'll definitely try another laptop in the future.

I've held off writing this review for a couple months so I could really put this laptop through its paces. I can safely say that it is a great machine. I've had no issues with it, beyond normal hassles that are due to Windows. I'm a gamer, and I play MMOs and I can run them at High to Ultra settings with little to no lag or issues. Rarely does the machine even get warm. The backlit keyboard is nice, especially because it has an auto shut off after so long, to save on power. The only possible complaint I could have is I wish the dvd burner was a bluray player instead, but that is minor. Sound quality has been great, graphics / video quality outstanding. I couldn't be happier. I got a great deal on a great machine.

Slow, lags, not a gaming laptop!!! It should out perform my 5 year old Desktop. In War Thunder and PubG this thing can't perform. It lags and crashes. I will be returning it!!! Very Disappointing!!!

Great laptop. Runs anything I need it to run. I got the 1Tb hard drive version which comes with a really slow hard drive but I bought a Samsung 860 Evo 500Gb SSD (for like $80) and replaced it (which was way easier than I thought it would be and I’ve never done anything like that before) and it’s a million times faster. It no longer gets throttle by the disc. Most of the components are pretty fast and I haven’t had any problems in the last 6 months I’ve owned it.

La verdad el equipo es excelente, la estetica es muy buena, el rojo del teclado contrasta muy bien, muy elegante y con todos sus LEDS indicadores, me encanto. La calidad de la tarjeta de video se ve de inmediato, aunque no la he usado en muchos juegos ya que solo he usado 3 dias el equipo, excelente hasta ahora. El procesador no lo he podido explotar ya que el equipo se siente lento, pero esto era algo que ya sabia que iba a pasar. La explicacion es muy simple: al comprar este equipo deben de tener en cuenta algo que FORSOZAMENTE tendran que hacer. Aunque no lo he hecho ya que hasta dentro de unos dias recibo el dinero es a fuerza. Se tiene que instalar un disco duro SSD tipo m.2. Esto para usarlo en el puerto correspondiente y no tener que quitar el disco de 1 tera que viene. No tiene caso tener este procesador, esta tarjeta de video y un equipo tan imponente, si no lo van a hacer. El equipo tiene 30 dias de garantia con Amazon, pero no en Asus Mexico. Solo Asus USA.El m.2 se instala abriendo el equipo completamente de la tapa de abajo, aunque ya pregunte con Asus y esto no perderia la garantia en caso de estar en USA, lo que si es que habria que instalarle el sistema operativo en el nuevo disco m2. Nada malo ya que los programas que trae vienen solo con licencia temporal.La bateria es grandiosa, tiempo de carga rapido y muy duradera. La pantalla excelente, IPS con gran angulo sin distorsion, el unico detalle de la lap es que es algo gruesa y algo pesada pero no la gran cosa, si es muy grande en general, cosa que me gusto ya que la pantalla de 17.3 es de lo que mas me gusto.Tiene bastantes puertos, unos que ni siquiera se si en algun momento usare, pero no esta mal tenerlos.Hago esta opinion lo mas explicita que se pueda ya que me hubiera gustado leer una igual.El envio me dijeron que 10 dias, nada que ver, me llego en 4, y eso que se cruzo el fin de semana. ExcelenteTrae unidad optica DVD-R, cosa que ni me interesa, no la uso, hubiera preferido que fuera un espacio para instalar un SSD normal. Pero bueno un m2 no es tanto problema, con uno de 250 GB es mas que suficiente.Como les digo, la notaran algo lenta (nada exagerado, unos segundos de mas) por eso les digo, no tiene caso tener un procesador tan bueno, sin el disco solido, ya que al momento de revisar el rendimiento, el procesador estara al 30% a lo mucho, la RAM al 60%, aceptable y el Disco duro siempre al 100%, pesimo y saturado, pero eso no es solo en este equipo es en TODOS los que no tengan SSDExcelente compra, no me arrepiento en nada, se que requiere inversion adicional (SSD y al menos 4 GB mas en RAM, aunque esos no son indispensables, solo el disco). Aunque es obvio que quien tiene un equipo de este costo, no lo va a limitar a tener un disco duro HHDEs cuestion de acostumbrarse ya que el teclado viene en ingles, en mi caso el sistema operativo lo deje en español y el teclado en ingles, te acostumbras sin ningun problema. Nada del otro mundoPuntos en contra: Un poco pesada (nada importante)En caso de instalar un SSD sera unicamente del tipo m.2 si es que quieres conservar el disco de 1 tera interno.Otra opcion (no me gusta a mi) es si ya cuentas con el SSD normal, se lo instalas donde va el disco duro y solo usas ese. No lo hago por que el que tengo es de unicamente 275 GB. Entonces pues no me sirve. Requiero mi tera mas mi 275 del m.2.Ya se que he mencionado bastante esto del disco pero veran que recibiendo el equipo es algo que eventualmente lo van a considerar indispensable. Es un dispositivo ni muy barato ni muy costoso y es solo para el sistema operativo, por lo cual no se requiere de gran capacidadEl sistema de sonido no es tan sensacional, pero tampoco bajo, si se escucha fuerte en una sala sin mucho ruido aldedor. le daria un 8 sobre 10. No batallaran en este sentido para jugar, ver youtube, etc.. Pero tampoco es un equipo para usarlo como DJ en una fiesta jajaEn pocas palabras el equipo es excelente, al menos hasta los 3 dias que llevo usandolo.No me arrepiento absolutamente en nada de mi compra.Se que con ese SSD m2 sera el mejor equipo que pudiera tener, a ese precio tan por debajo de la competenciaSe que esto fue largo y ojala les haya gustado, cualquier duda aqui estoy al pendiente.
