To Walk a Pagan Path: Practical Spirituality for Every Day Review: Fun, educational, interacting. - This book, To Walk A Pagan Path, by Alaric Albertsson, is well researched and put together, but also a fun, educational book that you can do alone or while interacting with others, a way to get family and children involved without pushing your ways of beliefs. Great self help book. A book of nature and kindness, while loaded with helpful tips to a better you. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to you. Review: Probably the best pagan book I've read - Simply loved this book - it was one that I finished before I thought I would, and left me wanting more. I especially enjoyed that it was not written by a Wiccan. Many types of pagan paths were discussed, and though he wasn't able to go into full depth with all of them, it was stressed that your practice of spirituality should be a reflection of your individual spirituality. Not just following the generic Wheel of the Year without thinking about how to incorporate your own gods and traditions, or what the Wheel of the Year actually looks like in the place you live. I also appreciated the Albertsson explained where the Wiccan Wheel of the Year comes from, and how certain celebrations from different paths were incorporated to make a "full" Wheel of sabbats. I personally love practical magic and making useful things, and the chapters dedicated to bringing your spirituality into your life by sacralizing activities you do and things you make spoke to me. Much of it was only written about in overview - adding references to where to look next if you're interested in canning or freezing produce, or making candles, gardening, beekeeping, keeping a familiar animal, etc. Obviously this book can't be a practical guide to all of these; if you are dedicated to your path, you can seek them out. I do value that this book isn't all about theory, and is about DOING your spirituality. However, I found the theory discussed very valuable. Dedicating onesself to the work of spirituality, the reasons for giving offerings, paganism being more about DOING than simply BELIEVING, and forming a connection with deities of a pantheon rather than choosing the most suitable deity from whatever pantheon simply because they work for a spell... All of that is explored. Mostly for myself, this book gave me terms and a legitimacy for the Hellenic paganism I had been feeling (and to an extent practicing) for a long time. It gave me the push to do the work, and form the connections, and dig deeper within myself. It also gave me the terms and the book references to adventure into this particular tradition. Those have been absolutely invaluable to me. I've been raving to my pagan and spiritual friends about this book since I got about half way through it.

A decent introduction
This was a good book. Looking back into this part of spirituality with a new lens, I appreciated the book and its tips on pagan day to day spirituality.

Excellent and clear
Very often, those of us who "walk a pagan path" find ourselves out on a limb about how, exactly, to do that. Alaric Albertsson comes to the rescue, with clever advice rooted in reality. (Sample: Do only what you can easily fit into your life as a daily practice. If you make it too complex and time-consuming, you'll give it up.) He is also unique among pagan writers in that he takes the time and trouble to nod to other traditions in passing, and got suggestions from practitioners of those traditions. This book, in short, is not a recipe or a how-to program, but rather an intelligent guide. If you feel impelled to take a sharp turn away from the dominant mindset, "Walking a Pagan Path" will help you to do exactly that.

Too casual for a serious witch.
Okay for beginners and people in to wicca and modern paths of witchcraft, or people who enjoy a light hearted and casual approach to the craft but not good for people who like to take their craft seriously and enjoy a level of professionalism to the writing they purchase. I’m getting very tired of reading new age authors who do not take their writing seriously, downplay the effectiveness of witchcraft with constant reminders of “it takes time, it’s often invisible” thus creating doubts and a sense of powerlessness to new witches, and keeping them from looking out for signs, and also, using a comical tone to their writing. I’m sure others may enjoy this, but this just isn’t the book for me. Old craft authors just had more trust and faith in their words, and didn’t make their writing a playful biography, and were therefore more informative by not injecting their own views constantly. Objectivity can be important in letting new witches thrive.

Great book
I like this book a lot. Even though the author isn’t the same pantheon as me. It still gave me loads of ideas on how to e corporate my own path into my daily life. Which is like the entire point of the book. So he hit the nail on the head with this.

Kapitel 2 "The Sacral Calendar").

Though I still live in a relatively large city, have no plans to keep a dog and shall not become a saxon pagan, I did enjoy this book greatly. The author is very knowledgeable and shares what he knows with cleverness, humor and sensitivity. His love for nature shows in every line and there are plenty of ideas for us to make changes and live a more natural, healthy, spiritual and happy life. He makes things sound feasible. It may not be in my reach to move farther from the city, have more space and put all which he teaches in practice now; I do feel, however, very inspired and confident of the life style I long for, and I feel I may accomplish much gradually. Plus, Alaric Albertsson is a real writer: he does not suppose we are beginner readers and uses well structured, creative language throughout. His book has been a real pleasure to read. I highly recommend it.
