Why did you pick this product vs others?: This product is a personal favorite! I eat primarily Whole30 guidelines and this sauce is set to amaze! I didn't know how much I missed this genuine cuisine style sauce! I primarily use it for my compliant Whole30 Kung Poa Shrimp! Absolutely delicious, I highly recommend. Taste: The flavor is there! Absolutely spot on! Heat level: Medium heat, perfect for my preference. Smell: Delicious Versatility: I primarily use it for my chinese dishes (kung poa and mongolian beef - soooooo perfect)

I'm one of those that only review if the product/item totally impressed or a came a disaster. Well, this was the worse tasting food item I ever put in my mouth. Bar none. Absolutely no heat and the flavor reminded me of eating plastic. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what because I love hot pepper oil. Sadly, since it's now open, it will be going to the landfill.

Very delicious! Quite spicy, but not too intense for anyone who can eat red pepper flakes. I particularly enjoy the Szechuan peppercorn “tingle”! Will definitely buy again

The lids need to be tightened before shipping! I have received two orders so far: one from the original manufacturer and one from Amazon! Both orders had loose lids that leaked product out of their jars!! One jar of sichuwan chili oil had been in its box and had been resting on its side (as the box intended) for about a month. When I had taken it out of the box, all of the contents had leaked out in the box and in my cupboard!! Daniel Mills

The soul of Sichuan in a jar. This stuff’s not fit beginners and a little goes a long way. It’s not the kind of chile oil where you want to take a spoonful and put it in your mouth — it will leave your mouth buzzing uncomfortably for 20 minutes. It’s not particularly spicy, but it has a level ton of Sichuan peppercorns in it, which create a unique sensation (usually translated as “numbness”) that feels a bit similar to your leg falling asleep. Except good. Fantastic for stir-fries and Sichuan cooking in general.

If you love the numbing, floral Szechuan peppercorn situation to the extreme, this is perfect for you. I generally enjoy the flavor, but this is far too much for me. Not too hot, but everything you eat for the next hour is overtaken by the floral “buzzy” Szechuan peppercorn flavor. Would have liked a little more spice, a little less numb.

Sichuan Chili Oil can be confusing to people who do not understand real Sichuan food. There are two parts. ‘Ma la’ comes from two Chinese characters meaning, respectively, ‘numbing’ 麻 and ‘spicy (hot)’ 辣 and describes the sensation in the mouth. This oil is tingly [better descriptor than numbing]with medium heat. I find, paradoxically, that the tingling effect makes things taste spicier, but that is me. It is easy to find chili oil with heat, but rare to find one that has this unusual tingling effect. that is why this is my favorite chili oil. I spend a lot of money researching and trying various chili oils - specifically Sichuanese style chili oils. This has minimal flavor and no heat. Pure oil that tastes like nothing. Don’t waste your money - try SZE Daddy
