I'm liking this paper..
First of all, I ordered the small size accidentally. So I was distracted thinking they had sent the wrong size. However I decided to try it out rather than send it back. The paper is very white and I like that! Paper is also soft and stays soft and I think I like that. So far it's a new experience. I have used all cotton paper for the past year but haven't cared in my journals. I decided it's time for cotton only period. My last two journals where awful and I had to use them while staying in Arizona for three months. So this journal is great compared to my last two? I will let you know that it's very very small and cute. It has no envelope in the back. It has a string too mark your spot. It is well made and has a stitched binding. I have only painted a few pages so I'm not sure how much water you can toss on it.. I think I'm liking it enough to give the next size up a try. So as of right now it's too small for me but I think the larger one might end up as my preference journal, but I'm going to be trying out a few Cotton only journals to see how well they hold up.. no more cheap journals for me.. so my quest for a cotton journal that's well made is on...oh the pages are thick but not hard...and do not have a grain like most cold press but are not quite like hot press either... Just different and I think I like that.. Warning: I ordered the next size up and the paper is not the same. I'm not sure it's even cotton. I'm disappointed and will not order that size again. I'm afraid to order the large one for fear it's not the soft thick 100% cotton like the little first one... I'm still loving my little first one and plan on getting it again....

Great little book
The pages are thick and the book itself feels very high quality. The texture is very smooth and perfect for gouache and watercolor.

Quality is important when it comes to my art.
This paper is worth every penny. The paper is super strong and holds up well with water on water. It's well made. This book will hold together ❤️ The cover is sturdy and lovely 😍 👌 This is a great investment for my art.

Fine, But Not Great
I was excited to try this sketchbook, but ended up a bit disappointed due to the paper quality. It feels more like a cellulose paper. While it is still a good sketchbook, I would rather have gotten a cheaper 300 gsm cellulose sketchbook or a better cotton sketchbook like the Etchr mixed media sketchbook. - The sketchbook feels well-made, with a sturdy cover and no binding issues. The paper is thick enough. - The sketchbook is a bit larger than expected. The paper itself is A5 size so with the cover it is closer to 6.25” x 8.625”. The A5 Etchr mixed media 100% cotton sketchbook I’m used to is a bit smaller, with the entire sketchbook itself being A5 size. - For a cold-pressed paper it is way too smooth. The paint doesn’t want to move very much across the surface. - The paper does not perform as well as other cotton papers like Arches, Baohong, Fabriano, or Etchr. Painting on it feels more like cellulose paper. Normally I can be more careless on cotton paper and the colors will dry smoothly. On this paper it is not as easy to get smooth washes. - Masking fluid, masking tape, and washi tape all rip the paper.

Pages lay flat and doesn't buckle
This is the best w/c sketchbook bar none. It has a nice texture, doesn't buckle under broad washes of color and the pages lay flat when opened. My preference is to paint over two pages across the gutter. The sketchbook works for me.

Love these sketchbooks
I use these for ink and wash watercolor or just ink drawing, they are absolutely perfect for that- the paper is heavy enough to do straight watercolor on too as long as you clip the corners down to the cover. They are labeled col press but are a bit smoother than typical so work well for drawing. I find the size is perfect and have bought them several times now.

Behaves like hot press
Nicely bound, good for putting in handbag. Paper behaves like hot press rather than cold press as labeled. Artist tape and masking fluid tear paper. Not sturdy enough for bokeh effects. Will use for preliminary sketches.

Excellent paper, solid sketchbook.
Paper is great and holds up to wet on wet painting. I like the cold press texture, feels consistent on both sides of the pages. The book lays flat pretty easily. I'm about 3/4 of the way through the smaller size book and will get the A5 size next now that I know I like the paper.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
