Q: Does this start and stop automatically based on pressure? What are the pressure set points?

Yes, it starts and stops automatically. My problem was the lowest pressure setting is 63 psi and for me that was too high so I had to install a separate pressure regulator to control my pressure.

Q: Is there a low and high pressure Set point? I want the pump to come in at 40psi and off at 60psi. Also, can the pump be used with a 40g pressure tank?

Yes. It comes preset at 45 but can be adjusted. And yes it can be used with a pressure tank. That's how I am using mine.

Q: Can this be positioned at any angle while running and/or mounted on the wall?

Yes, the pump will turn on and off automatically. However the lowest pressure setting is 63 psi. That was to much for my house so I had to mount a separate pressure regulator to reduce pressure to 50 psi.

Q: Taking water from a 2,500 gal. surface tank. Will this work direct from tank or is incoming water pressure required to boost and w/o prime each time?

If you are using a tank system only you will need to install a check valve between the pump and the line coming from the tank.
