While you can tell the "metal" part of the quill isn't exactly top quality it does the job and I have had no issues. The nibs write beautifully and the ink is lovely and dries quickly enough that I don't smudge. Definitely good value for the money and worth it if you want a quill but don't want to spend outrageous money. It takes a little bit too get it going on first use but since then it's been perfectly fine. The feather is lovely and when the set is sitting out on my table I get lots of compliments.

I bought this gift set for my daughter as she likes art and design quite a lot and so having a traditional handwriting one that works the traditional way caused me to buy this for her. Firstly, in my perspective it is worth the price, it comes with a decent quality feather, giving it the style you would find in the ones found back in the days. There were some misunderstanding and miscommunication in the display page of the product but I must say it does come with ink even though the seller says it does no. When i ordered this set i was very close to also purchase separate ink but the pictures and description said to different things so i was not really sure. However, this pen set comes with ink in a fancy little bottle. Alongside this, it also has a pen holder to be placed on an office desk or display as it is very attractive and will go well with a family display shelf. There is 5 pen nibs to get you started but you can always buy more if needed from Amazon or get cheaper ones on other sites. I would say this makes a very decent gift.

Good quality pen looks old and feels good and heavy good value for money

I purchased this product as Christmas present and I can happily say I'm not disappointed. Firstly to set the other reviews right, the product does come with ink (a lot of reviews state it doesn't?!). Unfortunately though the bottle had slightly leaked but luckily comes in a plastic baggy of its own. The feather looks and appears real although I have no way of confirming this, and there are 5 additional nibs along with the one already attached. The quill itself is heavy which would make for a good writing pen. The stand for the quill has the most incredible design in it too. Presented in a very unique box. It's probably one of the nicest things I've ever purchased from Amazon! Get one for yourself now!!

I was very pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful this was. The box it comes in looks like a pirates map and it feels like cloth, even though its not The box is L30.5cm x W12cm x D4.5cm. Inside you have the quill which has a beautiful ornate handle and a cover on the nib to protect it, it looks metallic but I'm unsure whether it is. Theres a quill stand, black ink and 5 nibs plus the one already on the quill. It looks very expensive, so for £12.99, it makes a lovely present. I've also bought a book on calligraphy and will be giving it to my adult daughter for Christmas but it would make a lovely gift for adults and children.

I love this pen. I have been doing calligraphy for about a year now. And saw this on amazon and thought I would treat myself. It writes beautifully. It sits on my work station and looks lovely. It come in a lovely box. It would make a great gift. 😍

Ik had eigenlijk gehoopt dat deze iets moeilijker zou schrijven, zodat ik gedwongen zou worden te calligraferen. Ik ga even nep-zeuren. Sorrie... Nadat ik conform de instructies op de website de punten afgespoeld had met heet water en ook gelijk drooggedept had, gelijk even de schoolveder punt geprobeerd. Deze schrijft net zo makkelijk als wat we gewend zijn van een vulpen en doseert de inkt heel correct. Hierdoor ging het schrijven me iets te comfortabel af. Dit nodigt een beetje uit te snel en te slordig te schrijven, net zoals met een potlood of vulpen. Het schrijven gaat eigenlijk net iets te makkelijk.

Arrived exactly as it appeared on the photos! Its packaging was very nice and elegant as well. I got this for my boyfriend, along with a professional journal, who’s really interested in writing, and he absolutely loved it. Not sure when he’ll be writing with it, but he did find a rise out of using it for a gag with his friends.
