Kabcon tablet stand + Fintie bluetooth type cover = portable surface desktop
This review is about 2 products together: KABCON Quality Tablet Stand,Adjustable Foldable Eye-Level Aluminum Solid Up to 15-in Tablets Holder for Microsoft Surface Series Tablets,iPad Series,Samsung Galaxy Tabs,Amazon Kindle Fire,Etc.Silver And Fintie Microsoft Surface Pro Type Cover, Ultra-Slim Portable Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard with Trackpad and Built-in Rechargeable Battery, Gray I have had both of these products for about 2 weeks. I have a Surface Pro 3 with an aging pro 4 type cover. I've really liked the device, but I was considering getting a new 2-in-1 device with a larger screen because I wanted to keep 2-in-1 convertibility but the surface pro screen was proving small in long uses of laptop mode. Plus, the ergonomics of long-term laptop use were not good for me. I have a docking station and monitor at home, which work great, but I also travel a lot, and laptop mode all the time is taking a toll. But I arrived at this solution, and I am very glad I did! Essentially, I have a portable desktop setup. The Kabcon tablet stand holds the surface pro up at a better ergonomic level, while the Fintie type cover, being bluetooth, stays on the table. The Surface pro is closer to my eyes, and my head and back are not so tilted! Plus, the stand is great for reading in tablet mode, and - this is the unexpected plus - I can change the orientation of the surface pro in the stand, and still keep desktop functionality. With this, I am able to keep the oem keyboard layout and compactness for travel (it replaces the oem keyboard physically) - the only significant added weight is the tablet stand. If you added in a dock, it would be a pretty good portable desktop experience. So, for about $80 for these products together, my Surface Pro 3 has come back to life for me. Now, the particulars about the Kabcon stand: The Kabcon tablet stand feels very sturdy and well-made. My Surface Pro 3 sits in the tablet holder with plenty of room to spare. There are appropriate rubber tabs to seat the tablet, and nothing is even close to gripping it - it's just seated in place by its own weight. As other reviewers have noted, the stand doesn't open or close too easily! On the desk with the tablet placed, you can rotate the legs with some effort and two hands. But you can't rotate the part that holds the tablet - you'd need to take the tablet off and do the adjustment with both hands, and then replace the tablet. So, it's not got the flexibility of the Surface Studio. If you wanted to go back and forth between a planar, drawing orientation and a more vertical viewing mode, like the Studio does effortlessly, I would not recommend this stand. It seems meant to be in pretty much one position at the beginning of your use, which is how I use it. The stand's stability is good. When I open the legs to the 90 degree vertical, and set the holder at the same vertical, I can load the Surface Pro 3 and everything is stable. But if I tilt the holder back somewhat to have a decent viewing angle, the stand loses it's stability and will fall over backward - I'd need to lower the legs. So, you may not get all the vertical height from the legs. Otherwise, it seems well made and sturdy, I would buy it again.

Excellent, light-weight, heavy-duty, highly portable stand! A must have for people on the move!
I just got this little beauty in the mail yesterday, and I already couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase! It is surprisingly light-yet-heavy-duty, VERY stable, and a great addition to my iPad accessories (I have the 11 inch iPad Pro). The stand folds nearly flat to a height of less than an inch, and the base’s footprint when in use is not much bigger than my Samsung Note. I have used it while sitting in my office chair (reclined with feet up), on my sofa, and in bed. While not perfectly stable in those locations, it is FAR superior to just holding the iPad or using the case stand, as I can raise the height, adjust the angle, and my hands don’t get tired from holding it. The stability is great if you just use a small amount of care, and I can already tell that this device is going to drastically increase the amount of time I spend using my iPad in these locations. Based on what I saw of the other stand options out there, this one is the best if you plan on moving around with your stand a lot. As I said before, it’s light & folds into a small size that would easily fit in a small backpack or purse. The footprint of the base is big enough to provide sufficient stability everywhere I’ve used it so far, and the stiffness of the joints ensure that it won’t accidentally tip too far forward or back when using the iPad. I got mine to help when I draw, and so far the stability seems well-suited to that task, too. As a bit of an aside (and pro-tip), I’ve paired mine with a Logitech K480 Multi-Device Bluetooth keyboard, and now I feel like I have a mini-computer setup (that’s how I’m writing this review). I STRONGLY recommend this little stand! Don’t waste your time looking somewhere else!

Love My Stands!
I have 2. One on my desk and the other by my couch. Very sturdy and firm. Can play online games (no first person shooter) and my pad doesn’t wiggle or move. Very happy with my purchase! Does anyone know if I can get additional bumper pads

Even after 4 years, still sturdy and functional
I got this stand in 2020, and it’s still sturdy and intact in a couple of ways: 1) The hinges do not give in to moderate pressures & 2) All the parts of this stand (Holding frame, folding pole, and base) have not worn out. I’m an illustrator, so I use my iPad almost daily for long hours. During work, I need my iPad to be held snd stay “still” at the right elevation and at the right angle for me even when I press it down with Apple Pencil and slight-but-inevitable body weight as I lean. This stand has not failed me once for 4 years in that regard. It’s a bit heavy, but that is exactly what’s great about this stand versus may other options. The weight of this stand allows it to hold up its folded shape at your convenience without giving into any unintended pressure. After 4 years of satisfaction as a customer, I’d say the price is well worth it because this stand guarantees quality and longevity. One thing to note is that this will tip easier if set on not so stable/flat surface. But that’s not a big deal at all for my use.

Bought it for my wife to use with her 12.9” iPad Pro and it does hold it well in either landscape or portrait position. She wanted her iPad to be up a little higher in order to have the camera view for online connecting to be in a less unflattering position. Although the stand does not raise the iPad significantly she can set it on a stable book or box to make it higher - therefore, she says it works very well for her needs and is an affordable option. The Kabcon does not interfere with the iPad cord so she can leave it plugged in no matter how she uses the stand. We looked at a LOT of stands and read reviews, she was concerned that it would not work well because the iPad needs to be in a very upright position (not leaning back) and this Kabcon stand is very stable so she can have her iPad sitting almost straight upright and it will not be in danger of falling over. If she uses the Kabcon with her iPad in landscape position she does not have to remove the iPad from the case but her case is quite thick so she does have to remove it if she uses it in the upright (portrait) position. Her case is not only thick on the one side but it is also a rather heavy case and the Kabcon can hold it and the iPad with ease and without becoming unstable. It arrived in a secure box, well packaged, and comes in its own little carrying case, too. It folds up into the case making it convenient for travellers. Hope this review helps with your decision-making.
