Test review
Bough this for cape wrath trail. Wanted long battery ( over 20 days) , GPS, route capability, and serious toughness and a hell of a lot more. It performed superbly. Great price . Was off grid for a week so this needed to be good.

Not exactly as described
Being advertised as a watch with durable battery, it's a little disappointed to get a 3-4 days battery life when turning on some of the function like training/walking auto detection, but the function themselves are working fine, after a gym workout the app is telling you what groups and how intense you worked (not always accurate). The walking function is ok, it's telling you the elevation of the ground, altitude, and how intense was your walk. Same for running.4 / 5 it could be better.

Not as it appears- Terrible customer service
Pro's - stylish, waterproof, cheapCon's - clunky app system, not built properly to warrent it's 'tough' label- tough screen but brittle and not correctly supported so screen can crack, although named Amazafit I dont think this watch is anything to do with Amazon - so there is only a 3 Month Warrenty on this watch - I contacted Amazfit explaining the potential watch defect but they were dismissive and only intrested inthe 3 momth warranty.AVOID - Waste of money.Did eventually get a refund from Amazon though - they were great

Mickey Mouse watch
I bought this watch having seen it on the internet. It looked tough solid and ready for action. I also promised brilliant battery life, that part is true the old days of charging your watch every night are long gone, i suspect it will last for weeks on a full charge. The watch itself is where the issue really lies, it feels cheap and tacky like it has come from a funfair, i know it only costs 200 quid but even so for that money you would expect a bit of substance. The apps are crap and the set up to get them working from your mobile is so fiddly and convoluted as to make it not worth the hassle. The watch faces are novel but ultimately all just variations on a theme with different coloured lights, the screen with the watch face only stays on momentarily, my wife said that when its lit up it looks like the kind of thing a 7 year old would get for xmas and play with all day which would be fantastic if i was actually 7 instead of approaching 60. The 2 main killers though are the heart rate monitor and step counter, both are out by some way, i counted out a 1000 steps and it showed 1178 which is way out, the heart rate was measured against my blood pressure machine and was consistently out by +or - 10 all the time, worryingly it hit 167 as it was brushing my teeth before bed and has been as low as 40 during the day. If you are buying it to monitor your activity and heart health you cant rely on it. I have a funny feeling that the only way to get a proper smartwatch experience is to buy the new Apple Watch or a top of the range garmin, but i cant compare those as they are both heading towards a grand so it wouldn’t be like for like.

Almost perfect
This watch is very G-Shock like and has all the features you would expect and the battery life was great, using always on and GPS got me 8 days then I turned off AOD and GPS and got over 2 weeks but unfortunately on my watch the bluetooth connectivity let it down. My attention was drawn to this after my wife was urgently trying to get hold of me but both messaging and phoning failed to get through even though my iPhone 13 was on me (silent mode). After that I checked and found the bluetooth disconnected at night and did not reconnect in the morning automatically. This feature is important to me so sadly returned it but it could be an isolated problem on the watch sent to me. There are thousands of watch faces to choose from the Zepp and AW apps and a few utility apps, calculator, todo etc which you can add to your watch but these are very hit and miss.

Feels cheap
I have a number of smartwatches and bought this for my son however, as soon as he opened it he was put off by how cheap it looked and felt. The ZEP app is poorly integrated and the whole watch and app felt cheap. Returned the watch soon as he opened it and looked at the watch, but still waiting on a full refund.
