Cuisinart 5-Quart Mesh Colander

I wanted to get a new colander because mine was broken. I really like this one and am glad I purchased it.

5-Qt very large returned for 3Qt. Easy clean up. Colander is big around but not very deep. I would like a smaller mesh colander with taller sides, perhaps 1 1/2 Qt but can't find one from Cuisinart.

The colander drains small pastas without any falling through which is why I purchased it. The only thing I found slightly lacking was that the feet did not elevate the colander enough when I placed it in the sink. There is very little space between the surface of the sink and the strainer. Perhaps an other inch or two on the bottom frame would do it. With this exception the colander did its job well.

This colander is awesome! I have had the hardest time finding a good sized colander that also has small holes to keep me from losing my ground meat, thin pasta noodles, etc. when rinsing/straining. I finally found it! Great colander. The mesh is not "flexible" mesh. It's sturdy. The size of the colander is great. The diameter is nice and open, and the depth is a great size for pouring into and out of the colander. I highly recommend this.

I would never have thought it was possible to "love" a colander, but I do love this one. It's sturdy and drains instantly. It fits easily in the dishwasher, but it's large enough to hold family-sized portions. The bottom is flat enough that it doesn't rock around. Even though I really need another, much larger colander for canning, I'm sorely tempted to buy another one of these.

Nice LARGE colander for everyday use. Comfortable rubber handles - it is easy to handle and conveniently hangs on the wall in the closet. I haven't had it long enough to determine if it will last, but so far so good.

Bought this to replace a cheap old aluminum strainer I've had for many many years. The 5.5 Qt is way bigger than I anticipated. Not too big, but I just personally dint realize how big 5.5Qt really is. The look is not like the picture, there is no "foot" on the bottom. And the construction feels a little flimsy. It definitely wont last the many years of abuse my old strainer has endured bouncing around in the pots n pans cabinet without getting deformed.
