Terra Nova NaturOil Butcher Block Oil, 8 oz

I have been using this on my wood carvings as a base layer before painting, works great.

Use to seal a carving. Apply and let dry. Paint carving and add another coat. I saw this on a carving video and gave it a try. I am still testing on other wood like poplar or scrolling projects in basswood, maple or walnut. So far I am happy with the finish I create with this oil.

This was recommended by another wood carver , as a pre-paint, causes water color paint to more slowly be absorbed into the wood. It works great. Why only 3 stars - because you can find it on the internet for less than $10, with free shipping - So why pay $38 for something you can get for less than $10 ?

This is mineral oil from a company in Canada. I switched to walnut oil for 1/3 the price and like the results much better.

I use this product to apply on my wood carving before I paint them. The oil allows the paint to evenly coats the wood.
