Awesome product.
Awesome product, it works well and is such a timesaver. Be sure to watch YouTube tutorials on how to use it. Watch several, as there are differences, and you can pick up different tips from each. One thing to know, do not press too hard on the handle. I think some people break the handle because they are pressing down with all their weight.

low quality product
The product is very low quality, first I received the product via mail not taped up and without a packaging box, it was just mailed as is in its original box. Once we received it it had grease or black stain all over the handle which is plastic, it weighs like a feather. We tried it giving it a chance and used it maybe twice and we make tortillas weekly so know what we are talking about, yet when pressed the plastic piece broke. It was not pressed hard as it is flimsy and as you can see from the picture you can see the quality of product for $60.00. The experience from the beginning should have just made us return it. We called customer service and they want us to pay $26.99 to send out a new one since the Amazon warranty expired by 1 day. They stuck to their rules and did not want to send one. Why would I pay again for something that is not worth the money. It is very cheaply made and this could be ongoing as I am sure it will break again. So no refund and if anybody wants to buy this I do not recommend it, you might as well gamble your money. Terrible experience with this company after sending pictures and telling them what happened. It was a waste of our time and money... Look out for this company.

It works - but not much of a time saver
It works well as advertised, but I think I’d personally be better off using a regular (non electric) press and a comal or griddle. It does not save me any time and can be a little frustrating. Pros…. -It works great and I have tortillas! -Super Non Stick - Don’t need to use plastic or paper when pressing like a regular press. Easy to flip and move around tortillas. Cons….. -I think the main problem for me is that it starts cooking right as you press, so if you press too thin or something, it is too late to do anything about it. -After pressing, you open it up and still have to stand there and flip/rotate around etc. So not really saving much time or effort. -If cooking with the lid closed (to get the tortilla to puff up), you can’t see it, so overcooking is possible! -The one pro (non-stick) is also a con and it is a big one - It is so slippery that on flour tortillas, the dough often shoots out the front when pressing, so you end up having to reposition it (that is if you haven’t already pressed half of it). In fact it is so slick that if the maker isn’t perfectly level, they will slide right off. -Definitely a learning curve to use it. If I had it to do over I’d just get a regular tortilla press and a nice comal. But this does work well and functions exactly as described..

Nice, but only one side is heated
It's a decent little tortilla maker. The hinge does not extend a little bit up so when it is closed it is not sitting flush against the bottom pate. There is a slight angle, so the side of the tortilla nearest to the hinge is squished and/or thinner than the side farthest away from the hinge. The other disappointing part is that only the bottom of the machine heats up, the top plate does nothing. That being said, I wasn't able to find any models that both sides heat. It is fairly easy to clean and heats quickly.

this is not the best reviewed tortilla press on the market
Ok, this is not the best reviewed tortilla press on the market. But, I'm a beginner. I wasn't ready to speed a lot of money on something I wasn't sure I would like to do. Heck, too much of a pain, I'll just buy them. I jumped for joy the day it came. Took a couple weeks to get here. Ripped open the box and sighed. Many of the same problems people had, I was now facing. Mild scratch on one of the plates. The thing I did not expect was the plastic handle . The handle to press down is plastic, I thought it was metal. My eyes rolled, screwed I thought! Should have listen to the reviews echoed in my head. The next day, I decided to try it! I had watched several You Tube videos on different products. One gentlemen stated stating at medium heat. I did that. I made several amazing tortillas, but they didn't have many or any brown spots. Heck, I'll just play with the temp. I increased the temp and it went down hill. Omg, they literally blew apart. The dough ball kept sliding and I had trouble closing to top. I went back to medium temp, Hubby ate them all. This is a learning process. I would give it 5 stars if one of the plates was not scratched (but did not affect the product). The biggest disappointment was the plastic handle, it wiggles back and forth too Gonna keep on making them til it does! Yeah, they are that good! I'm already know I will buy another one!

The plastic Cracked on second use
I wanted it to work out, I ignored the negative reviews thinking it is the learning curve. I even watched videos on YouTube before purchasing it. I had a villaware years ago and used it until the nonstick didn’t work anymore. My first impression was it is so light, compared to my previous experience. It is plastic, plasticky plastic and so light and not what I expected. But still I pressed on saying maybe I can work with it, but on my second time using it I heard crack when I pressed down the handle as instructed not too long and not to hard so the bread wont break up. The bread didn’t break up but the I looked under the handle, and it was cracked on the lift handle. As much as I want this to work, I can’t, I can’t, it cracked and I think it will break. It is so light, it is plastic, it is not durable. The press handle is very light, I can’t tell if it is plastic or not on the outside. I can’t figure out if the handle is painted to look silver around the plastic part. This isn’t an extremely expensive item, but not still worth it because I don’t think that crack is going to be the last with normal use. I must say, the non stick surface is uneven but its nonstick feature worked initially very well, but I can’t speak for long term use because as much as I wanted it to work I can’t keep it.
