Fit great good quality

In the past, these have been comfortable shoes with reasonable durability. I have worn Raisin Docker Castaways for decades (those made in US, China, and now Pakistan). Each pair lasts about a year (of daily office wear) before they look too tired to wear even on errands. I usually need to replace the leather shoe laces one or two times (about every 3-6 months) in that period.But no shoe laces were this bad. The shoe lace on one of these new shoes was broken in the unopened box. The other shoe's lace "meets expectations." I'll buy new leather shoe/boot laces locally and live with these shoes. It appears that the only other option is to return these shoes and take a chance that maybe the replacement shoes might have better laces. I cannot find an option to get replacement laces or to get a price allowance for me to purchase replacement laces.Amazon sourced laces appear to be about $14 for 70 inch shoe/boot laces with good reviews. The Castaway laces are about 30 inches each; so each new lace makes a pair of replacement laces. Jim

The Docker shoes came on time and were in perfect condition The size was exact. (10.5 Wide) Had trouble at shoe outlet store with misrepresentaition of size. Wrong shoe in mismarked box. What a hassle. But Amazon delivered for me. Thanks.

I ordered these shoes hoping that the "teen-boys" label is wrong, and it is. I see nothing that makes me think these shoes are sized or styled for boys. I ordered a men's 9.5, and they fit my 70-year-old feet as expected. They appear to be well made, although they both arrived with scuff marks (see picture), and the left and right shoes were laced differently. The former is an annoyance but not worth returning, and the latter is just peculiar in the world of "standardization." A lot of cushioning in the tongue but little in the foot bed seems reverse from ideal, but it is not a significant problem.

First, understand that I wear these kinds of shoes A LOT. I love them. I'm somewhat of a connoisseur of these kinds of shoes. I've had almost all of the various brands and ironically found the cheaper ones to ultimately be more comfortable (I think it's because they tend to be made with cheaper belly leather). And yes, I've owned Sperry's and love them, but hate the price for a shoe that I'm going to beat the heck out of.My only complaint with these is that when you first get them they are STIFF. As in, I wore them and got a blister on both of my heels (yes, I wore them without socks). I've never really had that with this kind of shoe, it was quite unexpected. I know they'll "break in" and "season" as I wear them, but so far they are still a bit stiffer than you would want. I'm thinking seriously of coating them in shaving cream with lanolin to break them down a bit, though I'm pretty sure they'll turn darker in color (which may not be bad, they are a little light right now) - it's an old baseball glove seasoning trick. A good leather oil would also do the trick, I'm sure, but that would definitely darken them and make them more attractive to dirt (the oil acts like a stickum).So - yeah - I docked them a star because their texture (almost suede-like), lighter color, and stiffness make them seem unfinished and bring their own issues. I'm pretty confident that they're going to break in, season-up, and be just fine though I'm probably going to have to take some steps I usually don't have to take to get them there. But for the cost, I think they're a pretty good buy and as of right now I'd probably buy them again.
