This item should be removed from sale. The design and operation of it is dangerous to wildlife. Rather than trap birds and animals alive it is more likely to kill them. A one-star rating is one too many.Given that this item is not fit for purpose I should be able to claim a refund...

I was hesitant to purchase this because it didn't have too many reviews and most reviews said it was flimsy material. That is far from the truth! For Months, I tried everything to get rid of the pigeons coming into my yard and hanging out on my roof. I have chickens so the pigeons would sit on the street light pole accross the street & watch when I would leave. I tried the aluminum reflectors, bought two bb guns, an animated owl and nothing worked. This was my last attempt at trying to get rid of them before going to my last resort of just getting rid of my chickens. Within seconds of me setting it up with some bird food, it trapped a pigeon. My bb gun took care of the trapped pigeon. I got rid of the pigeon immediately since I live in the desert and did not want to attract coyotes. For 3 days, I set the trap in the morning as I was leaving to work and would watch from work as it trapped another pigeon. On the fourth day, I left my home at 7am. By 7:15, the trap captured a pigeon. I was not able to make it home until about 7pm that evening, therefore the pigeon struggled in the trap all day. When I got home, I took care of it with my bb gun but was too tired from work to remove it from the trap. It had tangled it's legs on the mesh so I left it there over night. The next day, I did not remove the pigeon until noon. Since then, I have not seen a pigeon near my house. I'm not sure if there is some sort of communication between them but they never came back. Unfortunately, because the pigeon tangled itself very deeply into the mesh, I had to cut the mesh to remove it. I however have had no further need to use the trap again. I suppose I can try to replace the netting but if I can't and the pigeons reappear, I will definitely buy another one. P.S. It's been about one month and a half since the last pigeon hung out by/on my house.

I barely had this trap for a week and already caught 6 pigeons. In fact, just caught another pest today. It is easy to set up, like literally less than a minute. Sprinkle some crumbs and leave. It is steady, and makes the target feel at home, as they munch and bam! ANOTHER THOUGHT: This may come in handy in these times where meat is expensive, and catching wild edible birds. Great for small prey hunting too, quails, etc. I bought a second one, since everyone around had pest issue. Now I am the pigeon whisperer....

This trap works great for doves and pigeons! Accidentally caught a squirrel and he chewed through it unfortunately so I'd keep them in mind when setting it. I do wish it was easier to set up but it works as advertised!
