Adorable
It’s not meant if you’re a foster to adopt, but I adapted it myself to fit that need. Editing or changing questions to accommodate what my answer was

Best for domestic infant adoption or international adoption--do not recommend for foster care adoptions
This is a really neat format, but not a great fit for adoption from foster care. There are several parts that would be usable, but there is quite a bit of space devoted to making the match, what you knew about the kiddo beforehand, the waiting, packing, traveling to meet the child, announcements, showers/parties....stuff that isn't as common with a foster care adoption. There is also a section that says "I think about your birth family often. I know that placing you for adoption must have been a very difficult decision for them." Eh...The journal set up is nice, there are a lot of prompts that I wouldn't have thought to journal about, and I do think it would make a nice keepsake. The vast majority of the book is simple but thoughtful writing prompts with a few lines or a page of space to fill in your answers. There are also some multiple choice questions like"Leaving to bring you home makes me feel"Excited! It's a new adventure.Calm. I'm a seasoned traveler.Nervous. I don't like traveling because ____________Queasy. But it will be worth it!Or a couple lines to fill in your own answer. There are 8 or 10 places for pictures, and some of them seem odd to me, like a picture of the things waiting for you, and a picture of me packing. There is a place for a map of where the child came from, a 'token of my wish for you'(??), travel notice and a couple other things. There is a small envelope for a letter to the child.Overall, I have very mixed feelings about the book. It isn't really suited to our needs--although the author encourages to use all adoptive families to use it and just leave the places that don't apply to you blank. It's creative and could be really special but I would only recommend it to families who are adopting an infant domestically, or adopting an infant or older child internationally.

Great meaningful keepsake!
Saw this journal and bought it as a baby shower gift for my brother and sister-in-law. True, some of the questions will not fit for EVERY adoption story, but that is expected- not every adoption or birth story is the same! I read throught the whole journal before giving it to them and some of entries for the personal memories were thoughts that I wouldn't have even thought to write down, but will have great memories for the Little One to read later! Loved that! My adopted niece, Stella, was born this May and her name means "Star", so I fell in love with this particular journal because of the stars on the cover. If my family or friends decide to adopt in the future, I would definately purchase this as a gift again!

Love this journal
I have enjoyed writing in this journal daily. Has a few weird questions but I feel like it covers every adoption situation. I think I will give this to our son when he is older, as a gift. Really suggest this journal.

perfect for our adoption journey
I am so glad i purchased this book to record our adoption in. We are adopting domestically and i was worried it would be more geared towards international, its not. Its perfect! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is adopting a child through international or domestic means.

Captures my Thoughts and Feelings perfectly
I wish I had bought this journal sooner to document everything. I believe it would have helped with "the wait". I will cherish this journal forever.

Maybe better if adopting a very young baby
Had to return this item. A bit too cutesy for my liking. Possibly more suited if you are adopting a very young child but potential for a lot of gaps which could detract from the value of what is written in the book.

Excellent purchase
Best adoption book that I found! I have bio kids so i wanted something that would document the journey well as well as the matching process like their baby books do with pregnancy and birth. This is good for any age and includes almost everything I could want it to. Really happy with this which a since after looking at them for so long.
