I picked up these drives to insert into my TrueNAS MiniX+ system. I was using 3x DAS units (30TB/20TB/3TB) and wanted to migrate to a Network Attached solution. These drives have met all of my needs. They are configured in a RaidZ2 configuration and I can get roughlt 630mb of HDD spin rate for writing data to the drives. The drives do make a little bit more noise BUT the longevity makes up for it. I tend to strive for 5+ years of run-time on my storage drives and these come with the 5 year warranty.

Oh my God I've never experienced hard drives that were this noisy! I put two together in a RAID 1 and they still plenty reliable, they are silent at idle, but if you need to do any kind of intensive data transfer these drives are SO LOUD! It's so loud that they woke up my gf sleeping in the other room!

I am adding 20TB drives to expand storage with a DX1215 unit. I have hit the partition limit of 107TB already and working around it by creating new volumes and storage pools. It is good to see 20TB drives working with Synology although that is not listed on the Synology website.
