This was just a great book. I loved the story. I loved the hero. I loved the heroine. Where is the six star button?Clarissa Ruthven, Clary, as she was called by her family, was the youngest sibling in the Ruthven Publishing family. Gabriel Adamson was the Company's office manager. She had just finished school and was going to work at the Company and Gabe was supposed to be her mentor. She was bursting with ideas. She wanted to help women, children and the poor. She had already started a school for girls in a very bad area. Now she wanted to think of ways to get them suitable jobs. Gabe had managed to pull himself up from a horrible childhood and, without any help, he was making himself into a successful business man. They were direct opposites in almost every way. Gabe didn't think he would ever be good enough for a girl like Clary. But love strikes where it will. There were problems from his past that Gabe has to overcome. Those problems come with a pretty serious villain, complete with evil henchmen. Clary has some confidence problems with men, mainly because she never thought about men until Gabe. When these two finally collide, sparks fly!I absolutely loved every minute of this book! Beg, buy, or borrow, but get the book. You won't be sorry.

A Delightful story that will keep you turning the pages. Gabe Adamson never intended to go back. Clary’s independence often takes her to less than savory parts of London trying to improve the life of women. A place where she runs into a man she hasn’t been able to forget even though he acts as if she doesn’t exist. A man that she comes to know well and makes her question her decision to avoid marriage.Christy Carlyle has once again drawn us into the world of the unconventional Ruthven family and taken us on a wild ride in the form of the always effervescent Clarissa. Well done m’lady, well done.

I'm not usually a big fan of Regency romances but I liked this one. It didn't really involve the "ton" but involved Gabe, who was able to pull himself and his sister out of poverty, and Clary, who spent her time helping the less fortunate. I liked how the author portrayed both the H & the h and their interaction. Gabe did get a little tedious with his "not good enough" attitude, but it all worked out.

The heroine, Clary, wasn’t much of a wallflower. She wasn’t looking for a husband and had her own ideas for changes in the management of her deceased father’s publishing business. The manager, Gabriel had little interest in change, especially by the pretty and naive Clary. Of course they squabble over their differences but they find an irresistible attraction to each other. The story of Clary and Gabe finding each other when they lived in two different worlds is interesting and full of dialogue. The author did a wonderful job of telling their story.

This was a wonderful book. I loved the characters. Clary is impatient, young and optimistic. She gives her all to anything she does and is dedicated to her causes. Gabriel has a dark past and because of the chaos in his past he believes in following the rules and in keeping everything in order.I loved how Gabriel and Clary interacted throughout the story and really loved the ending.This book is part of a series but I’m an be read as a stand-alone book.

A headstrong independent clary meets her match in her family office manger . Only wanting to never marry she finds mr Adamson to be more then what he shows people.Great book. A page turner for sure

These two are perfect for each other. Christy Carlisle brings the light, otherwise known as Clary, into Gabe's dark existence. He is working so hard to escape his past. Clary is trying so hard to find a future of her own. They don't even realize what they need is right in front of them.

Clary is a feisty heroine for the poor and helpless women in the White Chapel district of London - Gabriel came from the district and hates that Clary goes alone into the dangerous area - I loved these two characters, and Daughtry, and Sara, as well as the original characters from the first two novels - the action in the plot is a big success with all the bad guys rounded up - well written - I'm hoping for more stories to this series
