I bought this flashlight/lamp based soley on the design because I had one similar that broke (after being dropped a lottttt...oops) . This was double the price of the original I had... but inflation, right? Only I apparently didn't read the description entirely because I was pleasantly surprised this one is rechargeable. So far, all is well and very happy w/ my replacement find!

Used for two months, then went to charge it and found the micro usb port had broken off the circuit board.

I live in a rural area.I like to sit outside in the evening and read.I'm able to set this up like a Desk Lamp and it works great.Then if I'm wondering if there is a deer at the end of the field which is about a Football field long.I can click the Lamp together and it shines down the field to catch some glowing eyes.I even left this on my porch table in the Desk Lamp mode and we had winds of at least 30mph and it didn't move.The only CON is that it is sturdy but creeks when you move it like it is going to fall apart.Be careful not to get pinched.

We bought an older model of this light but it needed batteries. This is rechargeable and a game changer.

This gets my seal of approval just on how cool the shapeshifting is LOL. I'm surprised at how many different functions and configurations this thing is capable of and all of them are good. The light in each setting is not the brightest but it will certainly light up the area well enough to see. One switch on the handle goes from off, to dim lantern, to high lantern to flashlight.On the two lantern settings you can either use the lantern as-is or push a little button to release the flashlight head and it pulls out to become a lamp in this configuration. The head of the lamp can be rotated within a 180 degree arc. It has ten LEDs that shine out of its underside and produces a bright light (at least for the high lantern setting) for anything that comes near the lamp or as a task light. Since the arm of the lamp head is curved, the space under the lamp head is vacant (the arm is out of the way), you can put things under the lamp head to examine them under light.The only things I don't like:1. Since brightness is not the highest to begin with I question the purpose of the dim lantern setting, I doubt anyone would use this, they should just remove it since one switch is already overloaded with four positions.2. In the lamp configuration the underside/base of the lamp that touches the ground is the clear lens that the lantern configuration uses. If you set this down on an uneven, rocky or craggy surface you may scratch or shatter that lens. I wish they had recessed this lens a bit more.3. The folding arm is a little stiff, after using it a long time I wonder if it will loosen up a bit, will it loosen up so much that it starts folding on its own? No idea.On a scale of one to ten, ten being brightest I've ever used, flashlight is about a 6, lantern diffuses the light so on highest it's about a 4, in the lamp configuration it's about a 5.This review has pictures of the four main modes you can operate the lamp in: flashlight, dim lantern, high lantern and lamp mode. The flashlight mode picture was taken in a completely dark room, all of the light shown is emitted from this flashlight, it provides a dim light in a wide cone, so wide I couldn't position myself in a room to take that picture and capture the border of the cone. The cone is probably twenty feet in diameter. The center of the cone is a much brighter spot about 1-2 feet in diameter, whatever you shine that circle on will light up brightly and the rest of the cone provides general visibility in the dark. In the lamp mode picture I positioned an object (a chip brush) under the lamp head to show that you have room to put objects in that area and it's washed out (over exposed) on purpose, the light is just that bright.There are visible screws so taking this apart appears to be simple if you had to for whatever reason. This appears to have two charging ports, a regular USB 2.0 and Micro USB. Both and the blinking red charge indicator LEDs are covered by a rubber plug so light rain shouldn't be a problem. It comes with a Micro USB cable about two feet long.Battery life is good to, I've had it on for an hour with no problems. This is now my go-to home flashlight, it stays bed side for when I need to investigate in the dark or a power outage occurs.

This is an excellent product, a portable rechargeable flashlight that can be converted to a desk lamp and is rechargeable with a USB port and cable. The cable comes with the lantern, and this would be great as a camping lamp.I've been looking for a bigger flashlight than the one I have for a long time, but I could never find what I wanted. As it turns out, this is exactly what I wanted. I can recharge it on the table by the front door and then it's easy to grab it as my dog drags me out the door for our nighttime walks. This is a good bright flashlight, but it's not going to scare the neighbors.This lantern/flashlight is easy to carry and works very well. It takes up very little room when you're charging it. You can also use this as a desk lamp or a small bedside lamp, and I'm sure it would be a great camping light.Excellent product, lightweight combination flashlight/camping light/desk lamp that's rechargeable and is very easy to carry. This is ideal for our late night (well, nowadays, after 5:30 p.m.) walks. It works just as the listing says it will and does a good job.
