I am thrilled with my purchase of The Original Molcajete Mexicano made of authentic volcanic rock. This molcajete is exactly what I was looking for! It’s not only a beautiful, handcrafted piece but also a highly functional tool for making guacamole, salsas, and grinding spices. The volcanic rock texture is ideal for creating the perfect consistency in my guacamole, and I can immediately tell the difference in flavor compared to using a regular bowl or food processor. Yes, it requires seasoning before the first use, but that’s expected with any traditional molcajete. Once seasoned, it’s truly a joy to use and clean. This is gorgeous. Its carved beautifully. The shape/aesthetic is great. The legs are sturdy, solid, and don't wobble. My only "complaint" is that its not packed particularly well, so the box and packing styrofoam were torn to shreds. A heftier box would be just the thing. Yes, its lava, so pretty sturdy - but it can still break. As an aside, you can smell the "smoke and fire" when you open it! Very neat.

A truly beautiful thing! I recently went to Tulum and tried to bring back one of these in my hand luggage but it was confiscated by the airport security. Apparently I needed to put in my checked luggage as can be used as a weapon she said??? Anyways, I ordered this one and it is heavy!!! And a real authentic. Volcanic rock. I di have a slight chip posible damaged in transit. But its not a big deal! I followed the steps to ‘cure it’ using sea salt and then garlic… ease of grinding, and easy to clean. I can’t wait to use at my guacamole night!
