Has a good bite, used quite a few of them for various blades being sharpened and getting the corrosion out of some tight spots on my truck. They seem like they’ll last a while too.

This is an awesome product that presents an excellent value proposition as you get A LOT of high quality hardware for the price! A quick search on Amazon will yield the fact that similar cases alone, with no hardware included, will cost in excess of $15! So, for just a few dollars more, you’re getting a wide array of high quality files that come in enough sizes to tackle most any job! I am VERY happy with this purchase and knew that I made a good decision as soon as I opened up the package and felt the heft and subsequently got to see the quality first hand. I had the pleasure of trying a few of these files and they worked just as expected. They did the job and held up extremely well. Thus far, the carbon steel has held up well against both metal and plastic, so I’m certain that wood should in fact be no problem for these files. The included extras were just “icing on the cake” that added to the overall value, but they were not factored into my buying decision as I just wanted a solid set of high quality files that could easily tackle most hobby type tasks as well as being useful at home. Being retired, I thought that these would give me the most value for my hobbies. I believe that I was correct based on the handful of uses that I got from this set. I really couldn’t recommend it more! Ultimately, if you need a decent set of files with a case and plan on keeping it for a while, well, this set is truly a “no brainer!”

The case is nice but the elastic bands holding the files in are a pain in the butt. I had to finesse the files in and out of them. Not a terrible issue, I know, probably more of a "First World Problem" but it was enough to make me irritated with the case. The files work great!! decent quality and tough enough to take the burrs out of and put an edge back onto my axe. Other than that small detail, the set is fantastic.

Great product as described

I just recently received this set of files.... I'm doing some woodworking work with smaller items, and really was looking for a small file for detail work. Because of the very reasonable price for this set, I ordered it and solved my need, as well as probably MANY needs I haven't even had yet! Nice set and selection, and for a very reasonable price! This is one of those purchases I wish I'd done sooner in life. For four decades I've made do with just two files, one flat and one round. I found myself in a situation where I needed both a narrower flat and smaller round file. Considering the price of the two vs this set, I chose this set. Since it's purchase I discovered I had more uses for "the right tool" than I realized! Deburing, channels, radius work, cutting whell and die grinding. That stuff I used to just emory cloth or sand to a finish now goes much faster and smoother. Just buy the set, that way you'll have it on that weekend night when a project calls for the right tool.

Very convenient for all files in one place, the use of each one for minor projects to big projects. Especially when I am doing craft projects.
