UPDATE: Extraordinary product... best ever!
UPDATE after 10 months: I usually update to give bad news, but this is a different story. This little pad is still just as good, just as attractive, just as functional as the day I bought it. It's super easy to wipe clean, no dead spots anywhere. Since it's on a slide out keyboard shelf, it's stuck at the lower right corner and has not moved since the first day I got it. Not even rotated. There are no frayed edges where the heel of my hand rubs constantly... What more could I possibly ask? I use it AT LEAST 10 hours every single day, no days off. Original Review: I haven't used mouse pads since I got rid of my last ball-mouse 10 years or so ago, but I made a pull-out keyboard shelf for my desk, just to give me more legroom under the desk, and made the shelf out of white rough-surfaced shelving from Lowes. The mouse was NOT happy with that surface causing skipping and difficulty doing fine movements. I bought this pad simply because I want it to stay in place AND the fact that it is very thin rather than a big piece of plastic or a thick pad. It excels amazingly for this function and causes me no discomfort at all, plus the mouse is functioning the best it ever has. I'm very pleased with it, and it wipes clean easily. Remains to be seen how it holds up to the wear of the mouse constantly moving over it (the surface of my desk where the mouse used to move is like polished glass compared to the rest of the desktop, so I know there is a good test for the pad for the next year or so. Nothing has peeled up around the edges and the stickum is holding... I placed it where I wanted it and have not tried to move it.

Best mouse pad I've ever had
I have a small, crowded desk with not enough room for a full mouse pad. I have a cheap wireless mouse that I probably got for $8 a while back and it doesn't track very well on the shiny black surface of the desk (my Microsoft wireless mouse works fine, but I have to switch between 2 computers so I use both). This pad solves several problems: it is very thin, so does not interfere with the keyboard and other items which I can overlap on top of the pad, it doesn't move around but sticks firmly to the desk, and it tracks both mice perfectly. What a great idea! I could have used one of these 20 years ago. It's easy to keep clean, and it can be removed easily because the adhesive is similar to Post-It, though a bit stickier. Highly recommended when you want to provide a few inches of good trackable surface for your mouse in a space limited area. Even if you have plenty of space, though, it's worthwhile. The only drawback is, obviously, it's stuck to the desk and takes a bit of effort to move out of the way if for some reason you need an empty desktop. But if that's not a concern, go for it. The claim that it saves batteries is difficult to verify. My Microsoft mouse lasts for months with daily use, and my cheapie mouse doesn't get heavy use, so I leave it off most of the time. I haven't noticed a significant difference so far.

Great idea? Pretty much! Saves power? Maybe.
This is a rewrite of my original review since, as it turns out, the first mouse pad I received was defective. It DOES have a tacky backing to keep it in place, so my most serious objection initially was wrong. I had been having problems with imprecise mouse cursor movements. I bought this in hopes it would make things better. It does seem to help, but I am not so sure about the claim of saving batter life. So far, I see little difference. I am testing it with a Kensington Bluetooth mini mouse with replaceable AA batteries, and two different Logitech mice, one Bluetooth MX1000 rechargeable and one Anywhere Unifyer connected mouse with replaceable AAs. I use only Duracell Ultras in all my equipment. So far I do not see much difference in power usage, but with the advanced power management built into my HP Envy laptop, it would have to be a BIG difference to so up so soon. Time, and lots of testing, will tell. I'll get back to you on that. First off the pad is very hard, very stiff and very, very thin. Not like a regular pad at all. Still trying to decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The back of the pad is tacky like, as has been mentioned, a post-it note, only more so. It does stay in place but if you move it around a lot from place to place, it tends to pick up dust and debris. Cleaning with a damp cloth appears to fix most of that. The pad comes with a cover over the tacky back that must be peeled off, but it is not marked and there are no instructions about it. You have to really read the fine print to figure it out or, as in my case, have some one point it out to you. It would be better if that backing cover had "REMOVE ME" printed all over it, making it idiot, or Greywoolf, proof! :) After you have locked it in place, the mouse does function well. I see some people complaining that they want a solid black or colored pad, They are missing the point. The pattern visually printed on the tracking surface is deliberately designed so that an optical mouse quickly and accurately picks up any movement. It does work and well. In fact. it works so well that when I first started to use the pad I had a bad tendency to over run or blow past my intended cursor location point. I had to adjust my mouse settings significantly and cut my acceleration to zero and reduce the speed. The coefficient of friction and texture of the pad still feels a bit strange and if you don't adjust your mouse settings, it will wear you out with the over-tracking, but I think that is a matter of just getting use to the pad as opposed to the ones you have been using. All in all, once the adjustments are made (and that should be suggested in the instructions/packaging but is not) it is a good, workable pad. The only real complaint, if it is one, is that I wish it came in some different and larger sizes, as this one is just a tad on the smallish side. Enjoy! , utilizzo logitech mx master 2s.
