Love it!Don’t let the naysayers, vintage gear hoo-oars, and tonesnobs steer you wrong, this is the *exact*. *same*. *circuit* as the 1997 original. Just, in a less fanciful enclosure. If that originality and fanciness are worth $300+ dollars to you, hunt down an original and buy it.If you’re just looking for the sounds, the *same* sounds, this rerelease is the way to go.I haven’t noticed any “tone suck” that was not apparent in the original, no dramatic loss of volume, no sudden shift in tonal character; nothing— that is to say, nothing that wasn’t present in the original release. If you A/B two different pedals from the original run, you’d notice variations. Variations exist in all individual pedals of any line. If you’re noticing any at all between the rerelease and the original, you’re just noticing the same degree of variance you would have noticed in the original line up. Or you got a broken pedal. I would doubt that very many of these “the original is just *so much* better” people are even A/B-ing between the new and original pedal, anyway. Most are relying on memory alone and the rest on hearsay; that’s what I’ve noticed, anyway. If you “tried a store full” of them, and they *all* had drastic issues that weren’t present in the original run, you’ve either (unlikely) been delivered an entire botched batch, or, you’re just exhibiting some Positive Grid— you’re totally Biased. And that would be fine if you weren’t poisoning the well on a perfectly fine replacement option. If you want a straightforward reverse delay in a stand-alone format and a (more) pedalboard friendly enclosure, this is perfect! If you want the look and “authenticity” of the original, that’s perfect too!I’m super happy they rereleased this pedal, and I don’t want lying liars who are lying just to lie, ruining the chances of future awesome rereleases!

An odd duck effect that has serious potential.
This reverse delay will be very handy doing cool studio sounds. Applying it live will take the guitarist time to dial in the repeat, time and mix details. Timing will also be a factor. But then front-ending this with a clean digital delay can create some lush soundscapes that are pretty lively. This may become a favorite toy.

Tricky pedal to get used to but really does something unique
Reverse delay is inherently a hard effect to work with. But the back talk is something completely of itself. The wet signal is a bit warmer than the dry signal, and the controls (once you really get used to them) are really well set up. You can go from endless delay loops to straight up just playing your dry signal in reverse, but it takes some practice. This pedal certainly isn’t a must have for most people, but it’s truly a great pedal and built far better than the danelectro pedals we are used to. Highly recommended.
