Fantastic product. I have an old leather couch that looked it's age. After one simple application, it was looking amazing. The creamy restorer is applied by hand. You literally just rub it into the leather and watch you 'old friend' looking better than ever. I was so pleased with the result that I pulled an old pair of Doc Martin's out of the back of the closet and applied Skidmore's Leather Cream to them, and was amazed at the results. Deep creases and years of dryness were instantly looking fresh and ready for a night out on the town. One thing I will say, after three days of use of the boots, I applied a second treatment and it's like having an old reliable friend back in my life. I have, now used Skidmore's on all my old leather belts and could not be more pleased with the product.

I originally started doing research for a nourishing product for my shoes. I searched and searched and finally came across a video that discussed another product but mentioned Skidmore's and I finally broke down and purchase a full pint sized jar of this stuff. In order to test the product, I went to the garage and found and old baseball mitt that I had laying around that hasn't been used in at least 15 to 20 years. I applied a coat of this stuff and initially, it darkened the leather and as it absorbed into the fibers the mitt returned to a shade very close to the original color. Within minutes, I could tell that the product was working. The glove began to soften and the more I rubbed it, the more the old debris and dirt loosened and came off on the cloth that I was using. At that point I decided that I wanted to test it on my leather furniture and applied a small amount to once of the hidden corners of my Natuzzi Leather recliner. It was like I had purchase a new recliner and the leather began to soften and glow as it did when it was new. Did that one, and began to work on the second one. I found that many of the surface scars and fading seemed to go away. I also noted that a lot of the imperfections in the hide became more visible and gave the chair a lot of character. With the second recliner done, I will be off toe the couch next. I applied to a pair of my Cole Haan loafers that had been sitting in a box for years and they are looking brand new again. The color changed a little but, there are still very attractive. I recommend this product to anyone that owns a piece of leather that they want to restore, clean, and condition. The wife loves the smell and it is really easy to work with. Apply, allow to penetrate the leather and use another clean soft cloth to remove the excess and enjoy for many more years. Highly recommended.

Great product. Really worked well on my old saddle.

Ordered this with the applicator brush. Works exactly as advertised easy to apply and seems to do a great job. However... the smell... I'm pretty sure this is made from the fats and entrails of the animals rendered down into the most god awful stench you can imagine. I'd be feel better if I got one that had gone bad or something. I took me 3 days to apply to 2 leather chairs because I kept having to leave the room to gag. Maybe order some masks, use it outside, or at least open a window. The company I bought my chairs from recommended mixing in some essential oil to improve the smell. I may do that before my next application.

Update: The seller made it right and I used it on my new leather sofa with great success. The smell, although not my favorite, did not linger at all and the sofa looks fabulous! Nice to experience good customer service and a well-made product! Haven't used this yet because it was packaged in an envelope for shipping so of course the container cracked. Now I have the hassle of returning it and waiting for a replacement. The other star off is because of its smell. I'm still going to give it a try when I get the replacement container, but don't love the strong smell and hope it doesn't linger after being applied. Will update once I've used it. I used this on my old beloved cowboy boots that I haven’t worn for years since I left Texas. It softened the leather, darkened it a little, but got rid of the lighter discoloration where the leather had cracked. They look great and the leather feels supple again. Also used it on my old blue leather couch. You can see from the picture, the cushions on the left look so much better where I applied it.
