Over a dozen installed, amazing.
I have over a dozen of these now serving clients and they are amazing. They are my go-to radio for all of my installs. Their range is awesome, the performance is incredible and the form factor is so much better than the radios this replaced. Really pleased what TP-Link has done here with their radios. It's crazy that these are both super easy to adopt into the Omada system and are really great at just being standalone Wifi radios. The ONLY design decision I often wonder about is for the ethernet to come out the top of the radio. For those of us who like things to look nice, when the TP-Link logo is right-side-up, the ethernet will come out the top of the device. In many cases, this means we need to do something special to have the cable route nicely and neatly. If they simply printed the logo upside down to what is now, that would make it way nicer looking in MANY wall-mount situations. (Yes I know it's a ceiling mount, but I often use this in both Ceiling and Wall mount configurations - the mounting bracket supports both options).

Good home AP
Good single AP for 2700 sq' home. 5GHz signal struggles at fringes after passing through two walls and a floor. 2.4GHz solid throughout. Consumes ~9W. Can be controlled either by Omada controller software or via web access to the device.

Not ready for prime-time
Do not buy these until TP-Link creates fully-functional firmware for this model. I had high hopes for these access points given good experiences with TP-Link switches and wanting a nicely integrated ecosystem. I selected this model because I have a bunch of 2.4 GHz webcams and this model has additional capacity on that band. Signs were initially encouraging as the access points were readily adopted into Omada and setting up SSIDs was straightforward. Unfortunately from there it was all downhill. The "lock to access point" feature didn't work properly (a deal breaker for me). Despite placing these APs in the exact same locations as their Unifi predecessors, signal strength was worse even on max power, roaming didn't work well, and phones were regularly getting one or two wifi "bars" instead of 3. Worst of all, even with the closest access point and signal north of -50dbm, the connection would drop as often as once every 5 minutes. Omada didn't show any available firmware updates. However on the website there was a firmware release dated April 2024 but released literally 2 days ago. This firmware update would not work through Omada even when supplying the downloaded file. I had to un-adopt each one, update firmware through its individual web interface, and re-adopt to get the new firmware loaded. I tried TP-Link chat support, but after waiting in the queue for over an hour with no response ... and finding very similar experiences to this on Reddit, I'm cutting my losses and returning these.

Works great
Direct connect Ethernet cable from Cox Modem/Router (had to use Ethernet power injector for PoE). Worked instantly after resetting the Cox Modem/Router. No switch involved.

Me ha sorprendido la gestion de las interferencias en la banda 2.4Ghz. Vengo de un Unifi AP HD con el que tenia desconexiones de los 100 dispositivos IoT conectados. Ahora con el Tp-Link ningún corte.

No problem very recommended
We used to have a lot of issues in the office with speeds constantly dropping when using our old two Access Points. However, this model is simply incredible! It handles everything we throw at it with amazing speeds. I checked during peak times, and according to Omada, it's only at 30% capacity—which is impressive. Highly recommended! Ps, at least for me, Omada is hard to understand. The is a local version I think, app works but can log in to the website. Yeah feels that part is not really user friendly.

2.5GB Omada - Works Fine
Device itself seems to be fine - no issues (so far). 🤞 Amazon product description needs to be fixed. Description says it INCLUDES a 12V/2A adapter -- IT DOES NOT, as clearly indicated on the box. I had one on hand that works, so not a major issue -- but if I didn't, I'd be pretty annoyed to need to order one and wait for it to be delivered.

Drops packets like it's allergic to them
Recently upgraded my standalone dual-EAP245 setup with Omada network consisting of EAPs 670 and 683 UR. Instant complaints from family members about dropped connections and network instability. Played around with various Omada settings for few days to no avail. Tried every permutation of channels, widths, roaming settings, latest firmware etc. Could not get the roaming to work cleanly and connections would randomly drop. Finally looked at stats and saw that 670 had been running clean this whole time while 683 has been throwing consistent rx/tx errors. Pulled it down and replaced with another 670 and now everything is working exactly as it should. Looked online and found some active support cases about 683 describing what looks to be the exact same thing I experienced which makes me think this is not an isolated problem. Overall, I really wanted to like this EAP but cannot recommend it in its current form. For posterity, firmware installed was 1.2 and 1.2.2; no difference. Hopefully TP Link addresses at some point.
