My doctor wanted to put me on statins for my high cholesterol, but I know the severe side effects of that. It's a hereditary issue, since my diet is super healthy. So my doctor recommended Red Yeast Rice, since that's the main ingredient in statins anyway (the only natural one.) Within the first 60 days, the LDL went from down from 324 to 220.With my HDL being 99, that was a good report. I've been taking it for a couple of years now to continue keeping my cholesterol in check. However, since then, the LDL has continued to drop and is now about 180. It's worked even better for my best friend who's LDL dropped from 240 to 160 in 30 days.

Like it as an alternative to taking a Rx....
