Definitely not for young kids, as the explanations and instructions quickly become quite complicated, although the style of the content is aimed at young kids. It does give you a good handle on how to solve a rubik's cube and it didn't take me too long to follow the sequence it sets out to solving the puzzle - definitely required a methodical frame of mind!

I bought this book for my kids and I to learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube. One of my son's studied it and practiced for a couple of weeks. He was able to solve a Rubik's Cube in about 10 minutes. He was even able to figure out a correction in the book. When I tried it, I was able to solve it in about 15-20 minutes the first time around. Absolutely love this book! Highly recommend if you want to learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube.

I think the book is OK. The cube teaching is really cute. I think the font for the algorithms would be more helpful if they were bigger and maybe a more basic font (it's hard to see the prime sometimes). My biggest gripe with the kindle version is that I am missing page 46 which is the last step to solving the cube. If anyone has this page, please send it to me. Otherwise, the book is incomplete and does not teach how to solve the cube.

The book is bright, colorful, and has a positive message. The instructions are quite text-heavy, and require critical reading skills. A few more diagrams would have been useful.Unfortunately, there are critical errors in both algorithms shown on page 46. The diagrams do not match the text instructions, and thus the puzzle cannot be solved with this book. Since this is the final stage of solving the cube, a mistake sends the reader all the way to the beginning.As there is no author listed on the book nor link for the publisher (outside of advertising QR codes), there is no way to communicate to the author these mistakes. For that reason, I cannot give this book more than 1 star.

This book is easy to read for kids and makes solving a cube really accessible. I've been into cubes but had no real way to approach my nephew about it without making it sound difficult so got him this book and a cube for Christmas. He loved it and is now almost to the point he can solve a whole cube by himself after only a couple of weeks.

My 9 yo said it was dificult to understand. I tried to read it and it was nearly impenetrable. He stuck with it enough to get the bottom layer solved. By that time it was too late and he had caught the bug. If he had really pressed on with it, this book might have gotten him to the solution in about a month. But we looked at the Rubik's site and found a PDF for download there which was clearer in both explanation and illustration and $0 to download. As this was an effort directed toward kids (the cheesy "turn my top" POV of the cube itself was absolutely grating), I have to give it a star. And because it gave him the confidence to get started on learning (rather than just guessing or flailing), I give it another star. But I can't recommend it.

Totally incomprehensible. The diagrams are difficult to read and sometimes plain wrong. The strategy makes sense but the steps are hard to follow even for an adult, let alone a child. This will demotivate them 100% guaranteed.

I loved this book, it's quite entertaining and easy to follow. The main character really does the trick, kids connect with him and follow the book to 'help him'. I tried to solve the Rubik's cube myself before my son and I was able to do it without problems, luckily I didn't find any of the issues that other reviews point out so I really recommend this book!
