A Street Cat Named Bob

Touching film. Family was pleased.

I discovered "A Street Cat Named Bob" movie by accident. My mother and I watched it for the first time in 2019 - two years after this movie came out. We are SO glad we watched it! It is a feel-good movie about a cat with no home that helps a guy "survive". Bob gets a home and much needed love from James Bowen. If you are a cat lover, or pet lover in general, you must see this movie. (The second movie is titled "A Gift From Bob". Very worthwhile and a follow up to this movie.)

I couldn't wait until the movie came out. I've been a huge fan of James and Bob since their first book was published. The movie does not disappoint and knowing that Bob plays his own role is amazing. I love the story because 1. it's a true story, and 2. it's a great, heart-warming story of a young man who beat his addiction through the friendship of Bob the Street Cat, both down-and-out but determined to beat the odds. A wonderful rags-to-riches tale. I bought all of his books and was fortunate to have the original book signed by James and Bob! I love cats so this was one movie I wouldn't miss for the world! Treadaway does a superb playing James and Bob - well, he's a natural and his placid, stoic countenance and high-fives are purrrrrfect! They make a great team. I am thrilled that these two survivors now lead a happy life! This is one movie that will warm your heart and make you smile. There's a surprise cameo of the real James in the movie.

I love movies about unusual people in odd circumstances, especially if one of those people is a cat. Bob is a real cat. He plays himself in the movie and does an amazing job of that too. This is a true story. Bob does not stand on the usual formalities of a cat. That is, he does not hide how much he understands about humans and their version of the world. He is clearly on a mission to save this human and hasn't got time to be anything but real. I was fretting from time to time watching this movie, but Bob never did. He always knew what was what and where to be and when to be there. This guy, this cat and this story are amazing and well worth watching.

As a musician and former drug user, I found this movie to be very moving! This tale of redemption through pure determination, and with a little help of an unexpected new friend, touches the heart strings of readers and viewers. The A Street Cat Named Bob (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) accompanying this film tells such a heartwarming, and at times heartbreaking, story of James Bowen's struggles and triumphs as he lifts himself from rock bottom and elevates himself to a place to be proud of. The film is one I have watched numerous times and it will forever remain in my esteemed re-watchable list of films. I thank James Bowen for sharing his story and gladly give him my respect and appreciation. It takes great fortitude of character to accomplish what this young man has and from a most challenging set of circumstances. This film is so personally poignant to me that I am not ashamed in the least to admit that watching it brings me to tears each time I watch it.

Emphasizes the author's story more than the book did. Bob's personality does not come through as much in the movie, since Bob is being manipulated for the movie scenes. He is a precious cat, but doesn't understand he's supposed to be acting. It's sad to know that he later died when hit by a car. Still, it was rewarding to see him after having read the book, and the movie is otherwise well-done. Not sorry I bought it.

This is an amazing true story of a boy who only had money he earned as a street musician and was trying to get off drugs. One day a ginger cat appeared near his door which started a whole new relationship in his life. Now he felt responsible for this cat that followed him everywhere. Gradually his whole life changed for the better! If this was just a made-up story, it would be an amazing one. But this story is true! It will grab your heart and not let it go until you buy your copy of the DVD and/or the book! I bought both and now ordered both for a friend after showing her the DVD! :)

ミュージシャン志望の若者と猫との交流と言う ほのぼのとしたストーリーかなと思いましたが、 あまりにも過酷な現実には驚きました。 ロンドンはホームレスが溢れ，荒廃している感じさえしましたが、 もっと前なら、ミュージシャン志望の若者も、アルバイトをしながら 夜はライブハウスで演奏をしてチャンスを待っていると言う感じでしたが この映画では、冷たい人々，荒れ果てた社会、麻薬に救いを求めているミュージシャン志望の若者を 助けたのはボランティアの人々とボブと言う猫の存在なのですが、 動物と人間の触れ合いのドラマは多くありますが、 この映画では現代のロンドンだけでなく世界全体の冷たい荒廃した人間社会を 象徴している感じがします。 英国がどうしてEUを脱退すると言う背景もありますが、 このドラマがどうして世界の人々に感動を与えたのかわかるような気がします。 ボブと言う猫との出会いにより人生が変ったミュージシャン志望の若者の話ですが、 辛いことの方が多く、ボブとの絆が深くなるのは、お互いに傷がついたときですね。 特に、麻薬の禁断症状で苦しむところは圧巻でした。 この映画のテーマは麻薬問題もあると思いますが、 その根本には移民問題、簡単に移民が入ってくるEUと言うシステムの問題点も 忘れてはいけないですね。 最初の場面でロンドンの路上生活者の様子が多く出てきますが その後移民の横道な様子も描かれていますが この映画では今の複雑なイギリスの状況も描きたかったのだと思いました。 移民らしき人間がドラッグの売買をしている様子などぞっとしますね。 日本版も出るので是非購入したいです。

perfect story better than film!!! it came in yesterday. I read it completely, and it is fine english language. Its a nice book story!!! I like to read it again.
