good quality tools that worked for me
I decided to try installing new tires on my Concours 1400. I figured it would be a good opportunity to learn more about the bike and learn a new skill. I bought these levers based on the good reviews and also because there are three irons instead of two. The large black lever was the key to wrestling my tires off and the new ones one. Even so, I spent about five hours struggling to dismount and remount tires. The second tire was much faster but the biggest challenge for me was getting the second bead off the rims. Installation was a snap and took minutes. Like another reviewer said, lube is critical. I used dawn dishwashing detergent. So, there's nothing at all wrong with these levers; they showed no inclination to bend or break and still like new. Maybe my tires were really big and really stiff ... or I had no idea what I was doing. But in the end, the new tires are on and I learned a lot about my new bike. I strongly recommend this three-lever set -- in my case, having a fourth or even fifth lever would have helped, I think. Next time, I'll probably get one of those "portable" tire changing machines for $50 with the gigantic breaker bar and bead breaker. Breaking the bead wasn't an issue for me -- just getting the darned tires off the rims. The new ones just pressed right on by hand with enough pressure and lube. Try something new and have some fun ... changing tires isn't rocket science. UPDATE: I purchased another bike and used these tools to install a new tire. Apparently the Concours tires were just difficult to remove because they were very low profile and stiff. These tire levers made short work of removal of the stock Dunlop tire on my new KLR 650 and installation of a new Avon Gripster -- a tire known to be difficult. No problems at all.

Do you need tire levers for a motorcycle? Get these!
Well, I didn't have tire levers, I needed to change a tire. Bought these, got the tire changed! They work good! I won't say everything went perfectly, because I didn't know what I was doing at first. But once I figured out how to change a tire the right way - they worked good!

Must have for tire changes
Love this tire iron set and have 3 of them. You can never have too many tire irons. I also have 2 other motion pro tire iron sets that get used on a regular basis. These are a must have if you change your own tires and fix your own flat.

If you're bending tire irons, you're doing it wrong.
Very pleased with this tire iron set. Good quality, design and price. If you want something better, step up to the Baja No Pinch but at a signifiant price increase. To address a few of the complaints that I've seen on these tire irons. 1.) You should not be bending or breaking tire irons on motorcycle tires. If you are, you're doing it wrong. Please go find a "how to" video on YouTube. 2.) You could use to change street bike tires but manual irons always risk damaging rims, street or dirt. They are best used for dirt bike tires and even then, I use rim protectors.

work well
I was tired if paying crap tons of $ to mount and balance tires. bought this item w/ harbor frieght 14 bead breaker and harbor freight 50$ balancer. Watched SCUDMAN video on youtube to learn how to remove and install tires. Getting tire off took 2 min tops,,,EASY!!!! getting the new one back on was more difficult but having 3 tire irons was great. 2 wud have been insufficient. Good product. hope to pay for themselves many times over the yrs. May even work on smaller car tires. That wud be great.

Motion Pro makes some of the best tools and equipment for motorcyclists and enthusiasts and these ...
Motion Pro makes some of the best tools and equipment for motorcyclists and enthusiasts and these are no exception. I purchased these in conjunction with Motion Pro 08-0519 BeadPro Tire Bead Breaker and Lever Tool Set . They came in a decent flexible plastic case so you could put them in a bag. The 8 and 10" tire irons work but the crown jewel here is the nice 16" curved iron that makes installing and uninstalling tires a breeze. The lips on it help get leverage on the wheel and the curved end helps with doing the final mount or dismount of the tire. Highly recommended!

What a set of tire Irons / spoons
They really shipped these out very fast and it seemed to me that whoever designed these must have changed a few tires in their life time , because they seemed to have had it all down when it came with the type of set they put together! A larger iron for breaking the tire loose and when needed the right amount of leverage without a problem! A medium sized bar and a smaller bar. All seem to have very well polished ends , to ensure that the inner tube does not suffer a cut! For the price, I do not think you can find a better set of tire irons on the market! In case you cannot tell , I really like these! And yes I would buy them over again! I cannot find one dislike about this set even if I tried to! Did I mention how well they are bent to accommodate the tire edges while holding onto the rim? Well they are! I simply love these!!! Thank you! Job well done!

Better than using screwdrivers
I got the plastic rim protectors too, but still managed to scratch my rims... I noticed that my rims were already scratched on the inside of the tire where it wasn't visible without removing the tire from a dealer tire change. My alloy wheels are pretty soft, and obviously don't like any contact with harder metals. Maybe the problem is my technique, but I might try to find some spoons with a softer, protective coating on the ends and see how they work. I had no issues with steel spoked rims, just with the alloy mags, but they're why I finally bought tire spoons... Screwdrivers work OK for steel wheels. You just have to be careful with the rubber. The rounded ends on these spoons help with protecting tires and tubes, but will still scratch soft alloy wheels. You definitely need some protection for your rims, and you can still scratch them pretty easily.
