Very nice shirt! Good and heavy.
I was looking for a good heavy flannel to wear as an over shirt or light jacket. This green/black buffalo plaid Rothco shirt turned out to be exactly what I had in mind. I wear a 2X, but bought the 3X in case of shrinkage. I plan on line drying it as thats my only option for all my laundry anyway. Even if it were not to shrink the 3X size is a good fit as a light jacket. I will definitely buy more of these Rothco flannels, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good heavy flannel. Update, first washing in warm water and line drying shrunk these shirts about one size down. That is what I intended on so now the fit is perfect.

Too big or too small
I wanted to buy some quality flannel shirts for a change. Normally I bought flannel shirts from Kohl’s and I was lucky if they lasted one season. So time to up my game and buy something better, I know Rothco products and quality so I thought why not give these a chance.Reading the reviews on this product was odd. One person says buy two sizes larger because it will shrink. One says buy one size smaller because they are oversized. So I just bought the size I normally wear ..... XL,When I got this delivered I was impressed. Not as thick as I would have liked but thick enough. So when I tried it on, it was definitely oversized. Not bad, but I knew I still had to wash it. After washing in cold water and letting it hang dry, it did in fact shrink but is now perfect. It does have wrinkles but if anyone knows where I can buy wrinkle free flannel shirts let me know!! I’m not going to iron them not because I am worried about the heat but because I always wear a vest with my flannels and roll up the sleeves. Does anyone iron flannel shirts? My thought on Rothco and buying their other products is they made the shirts oversized to start KNOWING it would shrink some. You cant avoid it. It’s flannel. As long as it doesn’t shrink more, this will be a good long lasting shirt. And the double pockets are a must for me. I EDC a lot of stuff and my tactical shirts have a lot of pockets. And I fill them up. These pockets are big enough AND they have a button flap to keep everything inside. I notice a lot of pictures are of family Christmas picture of everyone wearing the same shirt but flannels are for working in cold weather. If you want a flannel for picture, this is a very nice looking flannel. If you want one for work, you wont be disappointed.

Not bad... Over sized, might shrink if you don’t follow directions
I wanted a purple buffalo plaid/check flannel shirt. This is the best value of what’s available.BIG XL, closer to a 2XL in fit. I tried on both the L and the XL at my local store but was advised to go with the larger size due to shrinkage potential. Possibly shrunk a little after the first wash, and I followed the care instructions to the letter. Instructions stipulate, “Do not tumble dry”, so i hung it up and waited. Afterwards, it’s still big and baggy, though possibly a little less so. Will wait a few more washes cycles to figure out if I want or need to get it tailored... as it fit out of the package, I’d like it tailored a bit. Definitely NOT a slim fit. Expect it to come like an old school flannel, big and boxy.THICK, warm flannel material. Definitely more substantial than the thin fashion flannels available at the mall and discount stores. The fabric is good for the price, maybe even excellent if you can pick one of these up for $25-$30. That’s about what they sell for in my neck of the woods, though I paid more for this one because my local military surplus guy carries these but wouldn’t order me the purple 🤣 one.The buttons though.... they are fine for function, but they look VERY cheap and cheesy. If you want to wear the shirt out on a date or something, you’d probably want to replace the buttons, which I’ll probably do as well. This is going to be a $75 shirt when I’m done with replacing buttons and getting it tailored 🤣 which seems crazy though, for what it is.

not for children
This shirt is a bit large for a size medium. At first I didn't know why, but as I've worn it I've found out why. Your muscles and chest hair expand to fill the shirt. It fits about right now, though the arms are still a little bit long.It is nice and thick which is a good thing and a bad thing. With all this extra chest hair, I end up being warmer than I had expected. The thick fabric is a bit more resistant to bear claws than my other shirt. It is nice to not have to worry about my shirt when I have an altercation.Keep this shirt out of the reach of children. My niece put it on and now she's a member of the dollar shave club.Edit: Apparently this shirt shrinks when you wash it... It's about to get a little Hulk Hogan up in here.
